i bought my steinhart ocean vintage GMT direct from steinhart in germany and it took around more than 14 days delivered to my place due to out of stock when i place the order.

most of the time i bought my watch from xbay, normally it took 7-14 days, worst case is 21 days to get it.

this is my experience and hope this information help you.  ;D

The delivery period depends on the mode of shipment (standard post, EMS, FedEx etc) and the time of the year when you order.

I just received an overnight shipment from HK (shipped on 1/11, arrived 2/11) because the seller sent via FedEx Overnight (very expensive). Shipment from the US to Malaysia (standard mail) takes about 1-2 weeks. About the same from UK and Europe. EMS from Japan takes about 4 working days. But once I had to wait very long because I bought an item from the US during the Christmas / New Year season. It took a good one month to reach me!!!! So you may want to avoid making year end purchases!!  :'(

i love that experience, the anxiety, the waiting that almost kill you, then the arrival, the unwrapping...it is fun...
for the record, once i have to wait for over a month

The feeling of loneliness, the anxiety of waiting for your precious grail is some of the feelings a watch enthusiasts will have to endure. Next the anticipation of opening the gift-wrapped items.
Then, voila, the admiration of the piece one consider the "holy grail" or the ultimate "must-have" at that point of time.
It's sheer exhiliration.
Mine experience was like that too, but only from local delivery.
Imagine the piece, say, was posted on 3/11 but only reached my house on 9/11, about a week.
The anxiety and worry if the parcel was lost was there initially. But once the parcel is in my hand, I tore the outer packaging with fury just to get my hands on the piece.
Wow! That type of feeling is Precious!

my watches if using DHL / fedex, normally take around 1 week -2 weeks.
If just normal registered parcel, take around 1 month.

if it is a expensive watch or smooth watch then using DHL or fedex is better,
but if it is a tough or durable watch, i think using the normal register parcel, is good. let it roll in the air or ship when it reach ur hand it really got sweat and pain. -> (dont try this unless the watch is really tough or not ex) hahahaha

as i know the USPS is already very costly,
just a 1lb it might cost about 20USD

i have before bought a thing with about $9.99 but the shipping fee about $13
u see is this make sense, crazy shipping,

i ship from russia to malaysia just < then 10USD if the item more then $100 free shipping,

what so special of USPS it not reach in 4-5 days, it reach about 10 days.

What chris meant is usps is the same as ems which is the same as poslaju.
USPS (United States Postal Service) like Pos Malaysia, they have different service like EMS (Express Mail Service) Signed for (registered mail) or just normal ground service (snail mail)
Not all USPS shipped items will arrive at the same time. It depends what service that they use.
I have had items shipped to me using USPS Express and can reach me in 4 days.

Pos Malaysia = USPS
Poslaju = USPS Express
EMS = Poslaju = USPS Express = Fedex = DHL = UPS.

there is a priority mail and first class mail internation

priority mail if not wrong it consist of tracking number -> pos daftar
and the first class is without priority mail dont have tracking number,

both reach about 7-11 days/

normally the duration airplan from US to malaysia is need how long, 2-3 days?
Title: Re: Watch Delivery Duration

According to Fedex route, it takes 2 days.
US > Japan > China, Guangzhou (Asia hub?) > KL

All Fedex package will reach Guangzhou before come to Malaysia. No matter from US, France or Germany...

Different company have different route i think. Fedex have their own fleet. so its different from USPS / Poslaju.

Would the Guangzhou transit apply when we use FedEx and ship out product from Malaysia? Just a general query. Seems like you know the the shipping route pretty well.

guys,

i just get a shock from our malaysia postmen.

i bought a parcel from US. it probably using the USPS first class, where it mean no tracking no, is a ordinary shipment.

but it can reach your side about 7-11 days mean a week,

there is 2 kind of shipment, 1 with tracking no, which is first priority and another is first class no tracking no.
the price is diff in RM 50-70
the first class normal will be RM10-RM30
the first priority will be RM100 -> +++
both also about 7-11 days i believe the both process is the same
not mean 1 with JET and 1 with turtle plane

so the funny thing is when the parcel reach malaysia.
ok the pos malaysia get the parcel, and when delivered to me that crazy.

first priority -> send to my door step get signature,
firsl class, -> that fela just PUT the parcel in my letter box then just left.

lucky the parcel i bough is a small size can fit into the letter box, if it is a box?
i wonder why dont the postmen just took the parcel, instead force fit into the letter box, plus if he put it like that, those kids or pass through ppl also will took it, right?
is a parcel, not a letter, i think they have to put a notice to us to collect or just pass to the ppl inside the house is it better.

damn now i know we pay extra RM100 for tracking no and the few step for the postment to get the signature.

Maybe it's because the small box can fit into your letter box?
otherwise, they should leave a pickup note to you.
Inform you go to post office collect your parcel.

Like what stan said, lucky your parcel was small and he dropped it into the letterbox, hence saved your time to go and collect the parcel.

But normally a signature is required to prove that you have received the item right?

Maybe it's because the small box can fit into your letter box?
otherwise, they should leave a pickup note to you.
Inform you go to post office collect your parcel.

Like what stan said, lucky your parcel was small and he dropped it into the letterbox, hence saved your time to go and collect the parcel.

But normally a signature is required to prove that you have received the item right?

if the parcel is have tracking no, you will need to signature receive item,
if it is without tracking no it is just drop the parcel on your letter box, they done they job

and the parcel they drop me is not cheap dude, it least cost RM100++ ,
if the leter box is save and lock, + if it can fit, i dont mind
but my letter box is unlock, plus i stay in  apartment, u know many ppl pass by , crazy postmen

that why i say why dont the postment just put the parcel on his own pocket, that it, any complaint just deny it.

i had a lot of this kind experience.

if from Singapore,  -> surface registered mail will do fine. usually take 1 to 2 weeks.
from US -> 2 option is available -> USPS International Express (EMS), or USPS International Priority Class Mail.
usually taking less than 2 weeks.
from Japan -> EMS -> less than 1 week (usually 4 working days).
from Hong Kong -> EMS is safe

All the watches i purchase, go through customs without any problem, and NO duty been charge.
so far i do not had any loss in parcel

if you don't pay for the extra security, don't expect any from the postman. always pay for extra signature confirmation if the item you bought is worth it. i usually ship using EMS service which goes through PosLaju and signature confirmation plus IC number is required on delivery, although the postman never asks to see the real IC though...

but i haven''t shipped expensive watches yet...

Try and check if the seller has the customs declaration form. If he has, get the number. If you are lucky, you can track the package via USPS using the customs declaration form number.

All the best.

Bro, try google "track and trace" in order to trace your parcel. Hope this can help you to track your parcel. Good luck.

hi

yes i manage to track it the info i can get is the parcel already leave US
but when reach malaysia and is it in malaysia where is the parcel, no one know.

actually my question to pos malaysia is very easy is this parcel reach malaysia, but they just told me cannot track,
come on anything in into the kastam it impossible and  i dont believe they really never make any record on it,
they must have a simple record is this parcel reach malaysia already or not right.

then if this the case, why dont they just keep all the document, parcel which ship with first pririority all normal shiping just keep in the pocket that it. no one know, they no need to many work, keep them all,

Hi Khan Wooi,

Based on my personal experience, International shipping is full of mystery and surprises sometimes, so there's no definite answer to your questions. However, please consider the below scenarios/questions to narrow down your search:

Was Parcel A bought from the same seller as Parcel B & C? If from same seller, you may want to find out from seller if he shipped the 3 parcels at the same time. If from different seller, then you may want to give more time for Parcel A to arrive. If shipment is from the US, for normal USPS shipping, parcel may take more than a month to arrive in Malaysia.

Do you have tracking number for all 3 parcels? Unfortunately, for normal International USPS shipping, tracking number is only traceable until the exit station in US. Once the parcel left US, you can only wait and hope to receive it in one piece. In this instance, insurance coverage (if any) will be used to offset any missing or loss parcel. If you pay by PayPal, then you have Buyer Protection to fall back on. For express Mail (EMS), the shipment number can be tracked until the destination postal service (as long as the country postal system has EMS). In this case, you can try to contact Pos Malaysia at KLIA to locate the parcel. Their contact number is 87871122. A word of advice, you may be put on a long hold when you call this number especially during peak time i.e most of the time  :HammerHead: .

The above is based on my personal experience and other members may give you other advice so try your best to find out. I hope you will have a happy ending for your Parcel A. Let us know the final outcome.

Cheers!

hi awee

thanks for your advise

let me answer back your question
the parcel A,B, C is bought from same seller,
the parcel A,B,C is ship in seperated time, i first buy parcel A then few day later i buy parcel B, then a week later i buy parcel C.

this 3 parcel is using normal Interenaltion USPS shipping, where i have 3 US local tracking number and this 3 parcel as i check is already exit US,

Parcel B and parcel C i already receive, only this parcel A i haven receive,
that make me headache, i suspect it been hold by the kastam, maybe they cant find my contact number and gone wait a certain period send out the letter to me in some situation the letter haven reach me.

now what crash my mind is, the parcel A now is already eat up by kastam, pos or it really under hold by kastam.
but FYI this parcel A is in a Big Box size compare to the parcel B and C where they just a small package.
i wonder is it for those boxes shipment will took longger time then normal small parcel size

Khan wooi,

Can I assumed that Parcel A does not contain a watch. Since watches are not taxable in Malaysia, I doubt it if they are held up by customs unless someone has already 'taken' it. However, if you bring in a ship load of watches (large box) then I suspect customs may ask questions.

I purchased toys from overseas before and there was one time that the seller shipped in a large box of toys to me. This was the first time I bought so many items hence the large box and after a few weeks of delay, I received a letter from Post Malaysia informing me that my shipment has been held up by customs. I was asked to take up Post Malaysia's service to clear the parcel with customs. When I saw the service charges (around RM50) plus whatever tax imposed by customs, I decided to travel to KLIA to clear the shipment myself. At the end, it is much cheaper to pay the tax, petrol and toll and a valuable personal experience in clearing customs at KLIA.

I am sharing this with you because it is possible your parcel is held up by customs due to large size box and the type of items you are importing into the country and you may be getting the letter soon.
