Title: Dressy gold plated watch.... What do you think?
Post by: gapper on September 11, 2011, 10:55:44 AM
it been looooooooong time... im in-active in the forum. spare time is my golden time now for WIS'ing... ;D found this, did some readings and find it very appealing to me. build quality, price factor... need not to mention further. this is one of the seiko mechanical cocktail series (dry, sweet and cool) watch in collaboration with Mr.Sinobu Ishigaki (champion of 2005 BACARDI & MARTINI Grand Prix), to me this SARB066 stand out among 3. (sweet model SARB068 in rose gold, which is limited to 300 pieces worldwide)

i knoow MWF is getting more and more 'luxury' members nowadays... please do not compare to those luxuries brands when citing your 2cents. appreciate if comments / suggestions were cited with a common, casual atmosphere here.

it looks very very sought-after design (to me lar).... but GOLD  :-\... can polish off the gold plating?

very cartier's DNA, but made by seiko. very nice touch on the dial, roman text and overall design.... running 6R15 movement which commonly found in seiko spirits, alpinist series.

what do you think?... oh no.. i think i'm aging.... i'm actually fancy on golden watches now?!! heeeeeeeeeeeelp!

Nice looking piece - simple and classic.
For quite a few years, I was wearing a gold platted Seiko, quartz, which just recently went dodo.  :'(
The gold colour didn't fade much and it still looked good.
Seiko's got quality and for the price I paid - it's a worthwhile buy.
Take care, Ciao!

very nice timepiece, i'd take the yellow gold one. RG not to my liking esp the dial.

for 60k JPY with seiko workmanship, nothing else comes close if looking for a dressy watch with a true manufacture company behind.

but again, it's just gold plating, i'm sure it'll wear off as time passes.

i think the 3rd one, rose gold is very nice. if it's a dress watch used occasionally, the gold plating should not corrode so soon. as a WIS, you'd probably wipe it nice and clean before storing after use so that should preserve the gold plating.

not a fan of Seiko but this is quite nice. i guess it all depends on the price point.
