Just to have one would be a dream come true. This collection belongs to a famous Rolex collector in UK.

From left-to-right: 1975 ref. 5513 (0552 Royal Navy Clearance Diver) ~ 1977 double ref. 5513/5517 (0552 Royal Navy) ~ 1957 ref. A/6538 (0552 Royal Navy) ~ 1978 ref. 5517 (0552 Royal Navy Marines) ~ 1977 ref. 5517 (W-10 S.A.S. Army)
If I had one, it would be the A/6538.

siodee,
I am no expert but no 1 is a Rolex 5513 but with the modifications requested by the MOD. No 2 (very rare) is the double referenced 5513/17 with the 5513 between the lugs at 6 o'clock and 5517 engraved on the 7 o'clock lug. No 4 and 5 are reference 5517, specifically designed Sub for the task (like the reference 5514 COMEX). There are no difference between no 4 and 5 except for the fact it was issued to different branches of the military and different year issued.
Basically milsub Rolex are as follows:
The 5513 milsub was delivered with either sword hands or mercedes hands from new.
The 5513 milsub came with either full 60 minute bezel insert or 15 min bezel insert from new.
The 5517 milsub was delievered ONLY with sword hands and full 60 minute bezel.

Thanks Hobbit, really cant tell the different from the photo only, guess one must hold the Rolex watches in order to see the different.
When you mentioned "The 5513 milsub came with either full 60 minute bezel insert or 15 min bezel insert from new". What is 15 min bezel?

siodee,
The watch in the center of the photo has the 15 minute bezel.

Wowee! I've always preffered non-metal straps and those Rollies are beautiful
Looking to having my own Sub or Explorer on leather or Nato. Only thing it that they won't be vintage pieces.
Take care, Ciao!

I believe it meant there is notches (line marking) from 0 to 15 minutes where as the other numbers like 20, 30, 40 etc do not have the narrow lines in between them.

Hobbit & Chang, thanks for the clarification... I initially thought the 15min is the bezel turn in 15min gap ;D
