Title: Rolex : Gold surrounding Indices
Post by: compaq10 on August 28, 2011, 09:23:00 PM
I notice that Rolex Yachtmaster 16622 has gold surrounding its indices ( maxi dial ). Does Submariner 16610 or new Sub has gold surrounding its indices too? Is this pure gold?

Thanks!

if i'm not mistaken the subs are white gold indices. i read it in the rolex report.
this was right after the matt dials were replaced back during transition 16800.

i believe the indices for Rolex are either yellow or white gold. the hands are also gold and the coloured hands are painted.

yes they are white or yellow gold plated ...according to the case material, as i read.

That is why the modern t-dialed Rolex watches does not have much hands corrosion problems unlike other brands. atleast that is what i was told.

that's true about corrosion, i believe the tritium rolex uses is also a bit different from pam.
the color seldom fade and patina. very rarely u see a very orangy font. usually quite white or snow white even for a tdial.

yes bro, that's what i'm talking about. very rare u see this sort.

i've been after a 16800 matte dial with strong patina for AGES...
found one in HKG, but the price is higher than a BNIB 116610LV LOL.
is pretty crazy when u have patina+matt dial+sub case+prestine condition = SUPER PRICE
