Guys, really need your inputs... Got a good deal on preowned mint submariner 16610 (complete with paper).. the only way to make the transaction smooth is by trading in my Explorer 2 16570 + some cash.
Should I keep the Explorer 2 and wait until I have enough dough to get a Submariner? or trade-off the Exp 2? (To consider that the price of preowned Submariner may go up later, and Exp 2 may go down)
Your feedbacks are much appreciated...

Just curious, what makes you say the value of the Explorer 2 may go down?
I would keep the Explorer 2 and save up for the Sub.

2 rolexes is better than one. Save the cash for the sub.
-
I'm also curious how do come to the conclusion tat the price of sub will go up and exp2 will go down? Both watches 2nd prices r stable and increase gradually.

I believe that Sub's price is steadily upward, while Exp 2 is seasonal (up and down).. I may be wrong...

Both sub and exp 2 are keeping their value well.
Depending which angle we look at both watches.
Just because exp 2 is in hand and the sub is still in the bushes. With that in mind, actually both watches give the same feel but has different functionality.
Unless this exp 2 has less wrist time and need to dispose.

Based on what I have seen, the value for the 16610, 16570 and the 14060M are all stable and have been for some time (since 2009). The 16610 is stable at about RM14,000, the 16570 is about RM13,100 while the 14060M is about RM12,700. However this prices reflect the overall quality of the watches which is about 95 to 99% with complete box and papers. Run of the mill prices is about 10 to 15 % lower, watch dependent, i.e. overall quality, boxes and papers and age. The value of the 16570 is seasonal on which dial colour is the flavour of the month, white or black.

Keep the exp 2 and save more for sub

Keep the explorer. Buy sub later. No rush.

Can only dream of the Explorer II! :Praying:
Zitan, start with vintage Rolex first (6694 or 1501)... then you will see the way to get your dream Rolex....

Well IMO to do that is wasting because it distracts from the real goal.
Dont waste on something that just has the name and satisfy the itch for a while.
Take the time to save up...then get it, makes it much sweeter when you have it on your wrist.

A rolex is a rolex, save money and get a AP, VC or Patek. All one tier above with good resale value in MSIA. Forget Jaeger, Frank and Hublot

Think a bit too late for all the advice. TS already changed it to a Sub
-
Yep. Traded my black dial exp2 for a sub. Will get a polar exp2 later.

Since TS already got his sub, am locking this thread.
