By the time you get the thing all ready to be used, you would already have wound the watch and ready for use. Additionally you lose the 'connection' between you and the watch.

Yes..the tool seems to be 'useless' for a guy! Anyway that japanese inventor do it for the sake of ladies! Nowadays not only men wears luxury watches! Never underestimate the girl power! Some of them didn't even blink their eyes while paying 8k-10k for a watch! I guess that inventor do it for his 'finger-manicured' wife!
Cheers!

I suppose these  fine manicured ladies have to pay a premium for getting the same job done :)

Perhaps the dissing was a bit unnecessary. I own one and I like it a lot and think they are better then the bergeon variation.

To me this is just part of the many tools I have for my watches where some can be more practical than others - in this case it is more practical than most. Look at it this way, some of us baby or watches for a multitude of reasons and some just wear it like there's no tomorrow. Some watch owners/collectors like to have all kinds of watch accessories (like girls who like to have accessories?) and they don't serve much function, would that mean there is a feminine reason for it?

I like these stuff as they are watch related - like having 4 sets of Rolex SD tool/dive charts sets that i keep just for the heck of it although i dont have even half of the rolex watches to adjust the bracelets and add dive extensions to!

To the original question, yes, i do find use in it.
