From Rolex press kit:
It also appears, in a totally new way, in a black monobloc version on the spectacular new edition of the legendary OYSTER PERPETUAL COSMOGRAPH DAYTONA chronograph. On this model, the innova- tive bezel pays subtle homage to the historic 1965 model with the black bezel insert.
The new YACHT-MASTER II and COSMOGRAPH DAYTONA make wide use of EVEROSE, an exclusive 18 ct pink gold alloy with incomparable deep colour and lustre, patented and manufactured by Rolex in its own foundry. On the DAYTONA model, the entire case is fashioned in this noble material

From Rolex press kit:
a case enlarged to 42 mm and the new latest-generation Rolex movement, calibre 3187. This movement incorporates the PARAFLEX shock absorbers and the non-magnetic PARACHROM hair- spring, two technologies developed and patented by Rolex. On this new EXPLORER II, the characteristic 24-hour hand, with its arrow shape and orange colour, is directly inspired by the 1971 model. As an additional nod to the original EXPLORER II, on the black dial version, the “phantom-effect” hands seem to “float” over the dial thanks to their black base.

Holy!!! :Startled:
I think I just wet my pants!!
The Daytona and Explorer II is mouth watering!!
-
Anyone has any info on the cal.3187?
Now lets wait if there is a new ver. of the Sub ND.
-
Was hoping to see a pepsi GMT Master II.
-
Looks good, does this mean the current Explorer II and Daytona will be discontinued ?
-
Yes for Exp2 but for daytona i doubt so coz the new model is a pink gold "series". unless they show a SS casing replacement.
-
I really like the look of the new Explorer II, especially the orange GMT hand and the maxi-dial. And Rolex seem to have used a bolder font for the bezel.
I'm glad that they did not supersize the case.
It's a good thing that I managed to sell my white-dialed 16570 last year. Now I have a perfect reason to get the new improved version.
-
Well...Supersize in Rolex terms is changing from 40mm to 42mm.
I feel is a perfect size.
-
rolex should thanks Tudor for teaching them how to emphasized sports chronograph..and how to not to making a boring watch..weldone!

no new version of a Sub ND ..maybe next year.
-
ExpII looks nice in pics, but I think I refer the 40mm case, small hands and Red GMT hand of earlier model....more discreet
The others are grotesque.....and Ive always hated that YACHT MASTER writing....ewww. really like wanna tayang only

Yes. Despite the new Explorer II's larger case there's still a nice sense of proportion to it all. I especially like the way the lug shape (with the nice taper) has been preserved.
This important detail was somehow lost when Rolex designed the "supercase" for the new Submariner and GMTII. The lugs on those models turned out too short and fat, at least IMHO.

Official wrist shoots, comparing an old to the new.
Which one do you guys prefer?

I prefer the new one of course!! but preferably at the old price? ;D
I love the 42mm size and thicker hands.
Just when I was hunting for a pre-owned Exp-II, starting threads to ask for infos (my 1st Rolex)
and there comes a new one... :HammerHead:
Well, one day baby.... one day....
-
I certainly like the new black dial explorer ii
is that deepsea sales getting better after the new sub date launched?
So the explorer ii also up size to 42 instead of 40 like gmt n subdate?
Any1 hv more info bout the new Daytona case?
Bezel with black insert???
Look like just non rotatable laser engrave tachy press in bezel
-
Its a ceramic bezel for the Daytona if i'm not mistaken.
-
Just took this pic from The Edge Weekly, featuring a prominent business lady.
Look at the gold Daytona she is wearing, hehe... chun right? This is THE trend now... ;D
