Title: SUBMARINER 2021 RUMORS
Post by: apache0909 on July 22, 2020, 10:15:40 PM
What are your thoughts on the Submariner 2021 rumors?
1. New Subs will be 40mm
2. The Hulk will be discontinued.
3. New Subs will receive a new movement. An upgrade from the current 3135 Calibre.

I believe the standard 100-150k still applies to get a Submariner

1. Hasn't it always been 40mm? Just the changes in lug size that makes it look different

2. Every year will hear Hulk will be discontinued

3. This one has been discussed by many forums and expect it's a natural progression but the watches on sale will still be 3135 powered for some time yet.

I'm just curious if they're going to introduce more dial color options with a standard black bezel.

Just to spice up the rumours; 42mm submariners. Caliber 3235. New colorways. To throw it out of the park, no crown guards.  :Laughing_on_floor: :Laughing_on_floor:

It's sacrilege to not have crown guards on a Submariner

Every year, the Submariner rumour mill spins and spins. How many years now have we consistently heard that the Hulk will be discontinued? That Rolex will slim down the lugs? That dial will no longer be Maxi? 99.9% of the time, speculation.

This is my guess as well; but lkely movement update on the Submariners. Does that technically render all existing Subs as "discontinued"? Perhaps.

To be honest, the 3135 has been a reliable workhorse. Opinions on the web are that the increased power reserve may be a nice thing but the changes to the movement mean it's near impossible for anyone other than ROLEX to service it in future.
