Yeah. HAve seen this. The panda version is only 40mm. The reverse panda is 42mm.

QUite nice no doubt. However the 42mm is the one i'm looking for.

Wow

The Dan Henry. The darling on most youtube watch channels.

Definitely on the list. The mecha-quartz is a bit of a let down, but at that price. Can't complain.

Keep em coming.

Here's a couple that might be of interest bro iffy38 based on your criteria.

Ball Watch Storm Chaser Pro - suspect after some haggling with AD you might be able to get it close to your budgeted amount.

Then there's maybe Raymond Weil's effort - this one can definitely be got under RM10k but arguably it shows - dial execution doesn't look as refined.

Reckon your best bet are going to be outside very well known brands - preferably independents. Even Tag Heuer whom JC Biver says he's aiming for it to be affordable luxury - doesn't have a panda dial chrono under RM 15k. On that note, the ones that miss the mark purely on price would be Tag's Calibre 18 (vintage looking) and Calibre 17. Maybe Sinn 903 (Navitimer look-alike with a story that explains its no copy / homage).

Freefigher

Thanks for your recommendations.

The first 2, the subdial placement suggests Valjoux 7750, which is a good movement. A bit rough and unrefined IMO but tough as nails.

The Sinn 903 is really nice. ANy idea where to get that locally?

So far the ones that really resonate with me, subdials at 3 and 9

i) Hamilton Reverse Panda 42mm
ii) Sinn 903 ( another subdial at 6, but i can live with it )
iii) The Tag calibre 18.

Believe it or not, i actually kind of like the EMG DL63 but sold out at the moment. Price is unbeatable for a beater, pun fully intended.

Keep em coming

Yep anything with a subdial layout of 12-9-3 is definitely 7750 derivative, and for under 10k also unlikely to be by ETA anymore.

As for Sinn, I was told some Hour Glass branches may carry the brand but your selection here in Malaysia is going to be fairly restrictive. I personally have not seen them in the flesh.

Good find on the EMG although it sold out

Bro iffy38. If you don’t mind what are clearly homages to vintage Newman Rolex Daytona but running a 2824-2 and Dubois depraz modular chrono, you can check out steinhart

If you don't mind microbrands, I've seen a few that have the seagull manual wind chrono movement.
They're quite cheap:

With 10k budget, I'd probably get the hamilton though.

The Mercer certainly looks nice.

Seagull St19 movement looks good with the display case.

I am actually waiting for EMG DL63 to release a new batch, but not sure when is that gonna happen.

Totally agree with you that the display back look nice. Not to shout good finishing but at this price point what u get is really punching above its league despite being a seagull movement.

Steinhart would be a good choice for your consideration.
