Hi All,
Would like to know from all the members here if they have encountered any "issues" while taking out their Rollie or PAM or AP or any luxury watches for a walk...
Heard a lot of scare stories where ppl get robbed/marked/lost a hand/chopped/etc. because of the above...
If you have any stories to share please post it here and what sort of precautions do you take when you "walk" your watches?

honestly i dunno about other's i don't have ultra expensive watches but it;s not what you wear it;s where you hang out in.
i carry a few watches wherever i travel and i don't use the in-room safe at all. jsut hang a DND tag outside cause i have faith in the hotels that my company put us in.
also i dress way too casual with converse and jeans.. shaving is only a necessity when i go to work and i don;t own a car.. so i walk, cycle and take the subway everywhere.
in short i look too poor to be robbed. as again.. it's not waht you where it;s where you hang out and how "prominent" you "try" to distinguish yourself from the rest of the "plebians" that makes you a target. IMHO

2 words of advice, "Common Sense".
- Dont wear bling to mamak.
- Wear the watch you want according to where you think you might end up, example dun wear expensive watch walking on chow kit or anything at 1am.
- Dont lcly walking around thinking you are da man! LOL.
Common sense goes a long way.
Sometimes i even dont wear a watch when i going to mamak at night.
If i walking to darker place or down a staircase to car park, just put ur hand in pocket and dont reveal the watch.

I dont have the widely recognized watches such as Rolex, Panerai, Tag, Omega (well, the Speedy is with my dad), etc.
I also don't like bling watches or gold watches. I like white gold and platinum watches but they look like SS.
Weekend, I tend to wear my Alain Silberstein which can be easily confused as a RM150 toy watch. And usually weekend is one that I tend to go around some riskier places e.g. Jalan TAR, etc.
Weekdays I tend to be either in office or dinner at decent restaurant. I also wear long sleeve shirt so the watch I wear is not very visible.

I dress like poor man...

Just don't make myself outstanding. Wearing normal cloth, avoid dodgy places.

all are wise advices. would like to add be wary of anyone asking for the time especially someone who is already wearing a watch. so just tell them the time instead of showing your watch to them.

Put on a real samseng face :Laughing_on_floor:. Fear is the greatest deterrent to anybody. Of course that being said, dont play with fire and purposely court trouble. Avoid trouble at all cost unless there is no choice or that you are thrust into such situations. By then, show a really fierce face and hope for the best.

you can wear anything you want if you have "green dragon" on your left, "white tiger" on your right and "panther descending from the mountains" on your back... confirm no one dares to touch you :Laughing_on_floor:

in that case, the watches on ur hands were taken from the victims 20mins ago.

I guess the best advice is to use common sense, especially in relation to the place where you're in. If you purposely exhibit your bling-bling or expensive watch to others, then the probability would be higher. But as they say, malang tidak berbau. So I just normally wear my Seikos whenever I visit my mamak restaurants.
I might also add another factor, i.e. the popularity of the brand or how well known the brand to the masses. Not many blue collar penyagak are WIS. I guess you know what I mean ...

Just wear shorts with round neck t shirt and slippers. Then wear a sport rollie - everyone will thiink its a fakes and not worth a second look.

I carry a Glock with me......
or common sense..almost always common sense though ;D ;D ;D
...like no blings, no gold (yellow/rose or the like..)...wear watch suitable for the occasion..a late nite supper trip is best accompanied with a swatch or a G-shock...

Or alternatively, shorts, singlets, and a bling yellow gold Rollie president.....then people will think you're proper gangsta!!!!! and they wont dare to touch you as well.... ;D ;D ;D

just dont wear blink blink rollie ... most of ppl known this brand even Oris , Omega . i show my uncle some PAM he say what brand is this nvr heard of it :D :Laughing_on_floor:

If you must, wear the watch backwards and by that I mean wearing it so the dial faces the other side your wrist. Even then I'd wear it on a sterile strap/bracelet because logos and such are dead giveaways as to what watch you're wearing.

good insurance, pictures of ure watches and copies of all the papers is all used to have... prolly works well here 2?

wearing rollie is ok just avoid bling bling rollie like two tone datejust or yellow gold daydate (i love YG president but cant afford)...just my 2cents
