Title: How many watches you will buy in 2011?
Post by: peanut on January 12, 2011, 09:15:14 AM
I am doing my personal budget for 2011.  This year I may not be able to spurge on watches like last year so I will likely acquire only 2 quality watches such as IWC BP, H. Moser and Cie Monard Date, Glashutte Pano Inverse, etc.  So my answer is a lowly 1 to 2!   ;D

Why there is no 0 (zero) as option? :P

Zero is not an option for WIS!  ;D
But I will add it just in case

@dennis,

u r on the roll :)

@peanut,

last year, 5 watches total RM100k

this year, not splurging on watches, therefore 2 watches total RM157k, right? :)

for me,

limit myself to 1 only unless i moved some of them.

The 1st one would be RL EXII for my wife.
The next one would be IWC Port 7 days for myself.
The last one would be New Sub C to complete my collection.
 :)

This is all in my dream, which is mostly likely not come true........ :Praying:

i voted 1 or 2...hope to get the Oris before CNY and get a lil bit of experience using a mechanical watch...hope to land a Sub or Millie this year...not really fussy on the C (for Sub) but i read from one of the posts here that the 1st Rollie purchase should be new wor.....so... :D

Millie must be the GV though, i really dig the green crystal...they are still in production, right?  ???

For me i dont think i can safely say how many.
We all plan..but when a good deal or suddenly come into bonus or what not then we might buy more.
For now...i think to be safe 1-2 quality watches for me.
Dont need too many cant wear them all.

Correction: last year was 6 including the Seiko diver watch from Scott   ;D   I didn't know I have a watch accountant!

This year will be far more selective as I wont have enough time to wear them all and I am resisting to buy watch winder.  Moreover money "saved" will be use for other enjoyment such as family vacation and other toys  ;D

Most probably 1 or 2 watches this year.
Just bough a Zenith EP HW that came highly recommended. So I'm giving it a try...
Then one for my wife coz if i buy one, she will want one as well.

How to get a 7-Day Port for RM15k or less?  Even used one will be tough to get.  Talking about IWC, the new Portofino 8-Day got me to revisit the vintage handwound Portofino and found it to be quite beautiful.  May be an acquisition target this year if can get it.

If profit,that's a bonus.

So far in the last 2-3 weeks, I have already bought 2 watches. Now my eyes found another beauty which I am most likely going to get. But I probably will let go one of my new watches to finance the new one. Honestly, I don't know how I got this "watch-bug".... probably from reading too many watch forums and got slowly poisoned in the process.  :)

Anyway, to answer the question: How many watches you will buy in 2011?

As much as my wife lets me.  ;D
