Dear all sifu,
I'm kind of newbie to luxury watch world and very much interested to know more about Rolex value since it's the most iconic watch in the world. Now let's cut short and discuss...
For Rolex Submariner 116610LN, 114060, GMT Master II 116710LN(Black), Milgauss 116400GV and Explorer II 216570. I do know that 116610LN have the most great resale value even after years by trade-in to shop. What about the other 4 model? Does the other 4 model have great value overtime? I mean by trade-in to watch shop instead of selling to direct buyer.

Out of the four you have mentioned, the one that holds the best resale value is the 116610LN and the 114060 followed by the 116710LN. The 216750 is fourth and the worst of the lot would be the 116400GV.
That being said, I buy a watch not because of the resale value but how much I would enjoy wearing the said watch. I don’t have a favourite watch and I love them all equally...

One of this discussion again!
If you don’t want to lose money, don’t invest in mass produced watches. There are way better investments to do...

Usually an investment has an income stream e.g. dividends from stocks. Buying watches for capital appreciation is more speculation than investment.

Ya lousy investment ... better don't buy Rolex, especially those discontinued sports models ....
Stay away from Patek too ...

As long as we convert them one at a time, there'd be more of those watches for us then #InsertDrEvilLaugh

OK, joke aside. I just chitchat with a preowned watch shop keeper. Sea Dweller Mark 1 preowned price now only RM 33k and it's much more cheaper than GMT master and Sub, especially price-performance ratio.
Let's wait and see if the general prediction is going to be true.

You mean the first Deep Sea, right ? Not SD Mk.1 as in 1665 I am sure ;)
Ya am quite surprised that Deep Sea has not started to go up yet. Then again it also took Explorer 2 almost 2 decades to go past its initial retail price.
-
as for rolex for investment, many articles on the web kinda eludes to it.. however, as with all luxury items, it will only go up in value after 5-10 years (when that particular model gets discontinued). I doubt you can earn if you flip it after 1-2 years...

Not sure what you referring is what I know. That's the year 2010 model 116600. The SEA DWELLER wording font is more bold than year 2014 model. The shop keeper said that the bold wording model is Mark 1.

116600 is the Sea-Dweller ceramic 40mm a.k.a. SD 4000. If your dealer is offering at 33k used .... I want !! ;D
