Actually, I have known this Lam guy personally many moons ago
First, just like you, quite skeptical at the first glance between seller / buyer hype and later developed into trusted runner ship in trades on watches. of course.
Watches with no price tag in displayed might be some merchandised just called in or they are there on displayed after servicing done. I have observed all his watches are tagged. But I cannot denied that his merchandised are in prime condition and pricier than his counter parts. These are the few shops I known that polished off the finer points, servicing / polishing / buff off its watches to his own satisfaction before putting them on sales and displayed.
Others may received watches as where is condition and displayed them immediately, Good luck to the next potentially buyer.
As people trading and dealing in watches for a living, buying in at shops are definitely much lower in oppose when you sell your watch to an end user/s. Here at the shop/s, you are in a safe environment (with cctv) and you will get instant cash, whereas you are not sure whom you would be meeting with a total stranger at rendezvous places.
Go ahead, walk in confidently and ask out loud; " Hi boss, how much is that watch?" I am sure he has the courtesy and the obligation to answer you. Then half the battle is won.
Good luck.

Well, if you’re hunting for not very hot model, preowned shop is the choice, but for hot models, I suggest you mark a queue at the AD or boutique, it’s cheaper by far for certain model of Rolex.
