its called NATO due to its military heritage.
it was a standard British military issue, and has NATO part number ;)

Dc,

TQ. had some time off and was within the area. they carry a limited selection of natos but at reasonable prices compared to what was discussed earlier. That day they only had 22mm black,military green and skunk(black/grey).

But just wondering is there such a thing as the "real nato" or ... anything nylon is Nato?

Since im there already ... bought one "nato" strap and be done with it ... but the steel claps is very thin ... not to the quality that i m expecting ..

So maybe Nato term has been generalised to identified any nylon straps that bears Nato style ....

Just wonders where can I get the real original Nato straps ...

I ended up ordering another Nato from the net last night ... and lets see the quality of this once its arrive.
