Title: Wing Wah Watch new Branch in Penang?
Post by: TheWatchCollector on August 06, 2017, 11:52:05 PM
Anyone with the inside track on the new Wing Wah Watch branch opening in Penang this month?

I had heard last year they were hoping to open one, then there was a delay.

They alluded to it last month on FB but would only say Penang but not exact location.

Mentioned in a reply on FB today that it will be opposite Quensbay mall, but still under renovation.

Anyone know the planned opening date?

When they alluded to it last month on FB, they did say 'should be completed by August.'

Time will tell I guess (no pun intended!) I'm sure they'll announce when they're ready

extremely bad valuations when you want to sell your watch to them, business is business but dont try to make your potential customers a waterfish. you're building a relationship with them, not daylight robbing

also the prices of some watches are outrageous. quite frankly malaysians really do love giving their money blindly to some shops given how they can survive this long.

-10/10 would be their rating

The way I see it is they sell the buying experience. Compared to the retail experience you get at Amcorp vs WW Subang?  It is really a case of willing buyer and seller.  Hv not purchased anything yet at WW but it is a lovely place to go look at some watches.

Usually it'd those that would bargain high and low to get one, are the ones that label others who are more affluent "blind".They could on the other hand label you,"cheap".

There will always be someone else out there who can give the "best price", so how can they compete? As I know not all watches from WW is expensive, they have cheap watches too, I just always lose out to people quicker than me.

Just want to add my 2 cents regarding wingwah...

As their prices are on the high side, they do offer guarantee buy back policy.. if you trade in their watches for another watch from them, they will take in at 85% of the value (75% if it is a brand new watch). How i see is they want to keep you as their loyal customer..ie only buy from them if you want to retain at least 85% of the watch value... kinda like watch rental in disguise if you ask me.
