Title: Cost replacing Moon Watch Bezel
Post by: Speedy_Fan on July 20, 2017, 06:45:35 PM
Hi

Anyone here had experiences getting a replacement bezel on the Moon Watch?
I recently had an accidental knock against the car arm rest and it left a small dent
On the bezel ring which actually is quite obvious and an eyesore.

Any idea how much it costs and how long the process takes to replace the bezel?

Thanks

Depends if modern or vintage. Modern ones are relatively cheap compared to vintage DON bezels.

Modern bezel. If omega SC has stock, i'm sure they can change it very fast as with the right tools, can do on the spot but not sure about the price.

Mine's a Sapphire Sandwich with 1863 movement.

I believe it is around $250 plus the cost of the service. They will probably argue that the watch needs to be serviced anyway.

Just to share with all the forum members, I went to the Omega SC yesterday and enquired...cost of the bezel is 700 bucks.  Labour charge is about 30 bucks and it takes 1 week to replace as the sapphire crystal needs to be removed beforehand. Fortunately the bezel dent was minor and was touched up by the polisher at no cost. Thanks Omega SC

Note the dent at 72-73 on the tachymetric scale on the left photo.

Doesn't look that bad and if you could live with it, why not leave it as it is (bragging rights for the time you dented the bezel against the spaceship console when the solar flare rocked your ship, LOL) and only go for the repair works when it was time to service the watch. Anyway, the Moonwatch is definitely a keeper in any collector's portfolio

It doesn't look obvious, suggest you live with it for the time being.

Got it fixed on that very day...buffed it and it's flawless now good as new.

Fully agree that the Moonwatch should be in any watch collector's portfolio...iconic, legendary and timeless over the last 60 years still maintaining its signature look
