Title: Incoming: Seiko Cocktail Time
Post by: artyca on June 11, 2017, 08:41:21 PM
Have been searching high and low for this watch since it was announced at Baselworld and I finally found it at AWG Mid Valley yesterday.

Purchased it without thinking twice.

My first impressions:

1. Gorgeous sunburst dial which is highly unique! It shifts between silver and light blue depending on the angle and light.
2. I'm surprised that the 'lower end' 4R movement comes with a nice gold rotor compared to the previous 6R movement.
3. The patent leather strap is rather tacky looking and stiff. Will run it in for awhile before deciding on getting a different leather strap. However, the deployant buckle is a good plus especially at this price point.
4. The watch casing is beautifully finished and polished - amazing finishing and quality at such an unbelievable price! Casing is 40mm in diameter and 11mm in thickness. It should fit nicely under a shirt cuff.

All in all... I'm very pleased with this new acquisition. Looking forward to having more wrist time during the upcoming work week. Thanks for reading!

i've switch mine the strap upside down cause i don't really like longer strap facing me other than pilot watches. Accuracy wise can't compare to swiss watches but for its price its definitely a keeper. Gorgeous dress watch.

Nice. Would love to have one but then I don't see I will wear a dress watch often.

Quick update. The 4R movement is giving me accuracy of -2 seconds per day! That's pretty damn impressive in my opinion. Even my other watches with 6R movement is not as accurate.

My cocktail 6R movement accuracy is +4 seconds for 2 days. It's average about +2 seconds/day.

The butterfly clasp disappeares when engaged. Elegant.
