is there any possibilities of watch store in Malaysia selling fake/imitation watch in their shop?
or do you experienced any (buying fake grade AAA watch at official distributor store) ?
let us know...

At our forum here, we don't encourage fakes here...
Its better to buy a Seiko 5 than throwing your $$ into fakes. Or try looking at homage....
Fakes can be had (plenty at Si cheong kai)..

Yes, no fake discussion here.
But to answer your question. ADs wont sell fake in their shop.

i'm not elaborate it clearly i think...actually i'm not promoting fake watches...but i'm just curious and worry either AD will sell fake as well in their collection...this happen in guitar scene in which grade AAA fake guitar been selling for the price of original...and non-expert didnt even notice it and thought it were an original....

I've only experienced pre-own shop selling fake as genuine. Have not heard of AD selling fakes as genuine. I doubt they will do so coz if kena caught their name will die in the industry.

Hi Mack,
First of all you have to be clear on the definition of watch store. A watch store can mean a grey dealer, and with greys there's no guarantee that the product won't turn out to be a fake.
On the other hand ADs are another matter. It's very unlikely for an AD to sell fake watches here in Malaysia. With each purchase the ADs will provide the full box set including the necessary documentation such as manuals and warranty cards. You can always request them to verify the watch serial number against the warranty card/certificate.
If you're still worried then you can always limit yourself to the brand boutiques which are usually co-owned/managed by the Principals, so you won't find any fakes there.

I don't think any pre own shop sell fake in KL
no reason for them to sell fake as genuine
-
that's possiblity that the pre-owned shop doesn't know the watch is fake.
-
True, I have yet to come across pre-owned shop selling fakes in KL.
But you have to be careful......some may honestly tell you thats a after market bracelet, etc. Avoid Frankenstein watches through....

What's the difference between fake and homage?
-
fake = replica, violate copyright, illegal
homage = paying tribute to certain design. a.k.a copy cat. either own brand or brandless.

hmm.... got it! Thx!
