Title: Newbie here with Rolex
Post by: kelv_w on April 17, 2017, 06:11:23 AM
New here to forum and my first post.Thought I'd share with my fellow enthusiast. Got bitten by the bug when I bought my first Rolex EXII for my 40th last year and 4 months later I picked up a BLNR which I have been eyeing every since.

I remember my parents asked what watch I wanted 25 years ago and I chose a Tag (it was all raved back then) and my sis picked her Rolex. How have I regretted it but I still wear my Tag until today. It still brings fond memories.
Anyway... here are some obligatory photos :)

Although I didn't get any gifts, the AD was nice enough to offer a bottle of bubbly instead.

My new acquisition last week  ;D This time I was given a service pouch and a Cartier watch cleaning kit. Ah well, better than nothing.

So far so good but I hope to add another in future, maybe a Hulk, Datejust41 or AirKing? Not sure which one yet

Congrats on two fantastic watches. Maybe a datejust with a fluted bezel and jubilee bracelet, at 36mm a great dress watch. Seeing that you already have two sports watches. And welcome to the forum...

Cheers
Patrick

Great pieces you have there. I remember starting off with a DJ vintage, which started the Rollie-bug. Then SubLN, DJ diamonds, SubLV, Eii, SDc... but I am a serial flipper so I tend to flip them one after another, over time, all pun intended  ;D

I have always been interested in the BLNR, but the middle polished links seemed to be scratch-magnet. How have yours been holding up? Am now eyeing the Sky-Dweller sans precious metals, which you could consider too as prices are more attainable now that Rollie make them in WG and s/s. Your 2 Rollie brothers-in-arms looked real good, mate!

Only have the Tag, no Cartier. The Tag on the left was a gift from my wife and the right is my old Tag. The series 2000 was all rave back then lol.

A sub is tempting but I quite like the green sub too.

What is it mean by flat 4 bezel?

The top of 4 is flat, instead of pointed.

Congratulations bro! Both Batman and Explorer are my personal favourite, and both of them are of really good value.

Green Sub is good. I just don't know why, sometime design of Tag dated faster... but not all...
