Hi All,
Since i off loaded my Tag Heuer Carrera this year and i kinda of missing the fun of Chronograph... i use it while i am doing big biz in toilet, time the “actual productivity time” in the office and etc.. :HammerHead:
I think my next year target is very clear, a Chronograph watch.. So which and what model or brands you all think will fit the below criteria;
1. Rich heritage.
2. S/S bracelet.
3. Watch case +- 40mm
4. In house movement if possible (i am still in the midst of in house thing)
5. Lastly, most important part is fit into my budget of RM 7k and below, be it of pre-own or bnib...
I don’t have any preference but i think speedmaster is pretty cool but i am confused with their models ie;, moon watch, manual wind, auto, LE and etc...
any sifus here can enlighten me on this or direct me to any website where have good review on speedmaster...
Thanks in advance

My vote for classic moonwatch. Used one going around 6-7k.
Some good read here written by the late Chuck Maddox.

Agree with CK. but need to find pre-owned one with the budget.

One more thing. I would suggest pre-owned 1863 with a transparent case back. This is mine.

Good luck ;)

Off the cuff I see speedmaster professional aka the moon watch or Sinn 142 fit ur criteria. Both watches has history with space travelers and comply with the conditions u set. Sinn 142 comes with many variations. Or perhaps Tutima . Though Tutima does not has much history but the Lemania 5100 it housed has.

+1
I would not hesitate if got chance to swap my solid back to a sapphire one. The view of the movement is just incredible.

Coco, the transparent case back is originally come with the watch or aftermarket? sorry i am not noobie to speedmaster but no dubts the view of the movement is just incredible
-
Coco,
1863 is one of my wish list...
Missed one at a bargain last time...
Hardly see any pre owned here in kl
new is too expensive
the 1863 hv better finishing than 1861...
So I won't change the see through case back for the legendary moonwatch!
Also won't change from mineral crystal to sapphire
-
it is not mineral crystal for 1861. It is Hesalite, an acrylic crystal.

ref 3572 (discontinued) - hesalite front/ sapphire back
ref 3573 - sapphire front and back a.k.a sapphire sandwich
there are few for sales now at muxxx dot com

Moonwatch +1
Personally, i will go for the most basic 3570 with acrylic glass

Since you said budget is 7 K i guess some moonwatch can be get at that price.
If you don mind about not being in house why not consider the one with Lemania 5100 like
-Omega 1045 (the one is am wrote review) & if you dont mind being vintage. (in a way its inhouse movement ;D)
-Fortis cosmonaut like teh one here http://forums.watchuseek.com/f251/fortis-cosmonaut-picture-98002.html (this one is small around 39mm) or this http://forums.watchuseek.com/f29/fs-fortis-b-42-official-cosmonauts-chronograph-le-titanium-lemania-5100-a-430932.html (which is bigger at 42 mm)
I saw the latter in of the ad clearance sale but i dunno if it was still available anot....
Hope this will help you ar ;D

I hardly see a pre-owned 1863 in Thailand as well (I saw one with Chocolate dial)
Mostly front plastic, back saphire.
That's why I decided to buy a brand new one from Watatime here.
This is a classic one. It's my beater now. I think I will keep it with me forever :)
