I'm just serviced my 13yrs old Tissot Le Locle Automatic for RM300 for the 1st time. The watch shop took about 3 weeks to service the watch. Now my watch run smoothly n the power reserve is reasonable good (within 38hrs power reserve as per manual).

If go service centre it would be higher cost
Recommend tax seng at amcorp mall
So many good review from members

Hey fellow watch lovers,
I just sent my Fortis marine master to TSC in Amcorp mall. Requested for full overhaul. Service deposit rm160 paid( will be deducted from final cost of service if completed)
I received quotation yesterday for rm600 overhaul repair, rm580 parts change mainspring and wheels(not balance wheel) and 120 to repair broker T bar screw. Total including gst came to rm1378.
Personally I am think 600 for overhaul movement reasonable. But 580 for parts, I find exorbitant. Considering that the watch runs on ETA 2836 movement.
I broke a T bar screw trying to replace a strap myself. But 120 just to fix... I would probably not do that. I am trying to source a Gshock T bar screw for model GW-2000 GW-2500 GW-3000 GW-3500. Any help with sourcing, appreciated.
Meanwhile, still thinking whether I should proceed with overhaul. Watch was working ok, with reduction in power reserve. Approx 7 years old.
Any suggestions for this newbie watch lover is truly appreciated.

Hey everyone,
Serviced my dad's vintage Rolex Datejust at Watches of Switzerland (Bangsar Village). I'll post the before and after pics once I get the watch back. Time to service is 3-4 weeks and the cost is RM1,900.

I did with the watch shop in Weld for Pam210.
Cost me 500-600 for full service with no polish and no part replacement.
About 2 weeks.

My last service for an Omega Speedmaster Racing costs about RM2,000 at authorized service centre.
-
Serviced Heuer Bundeswehr for Rm1400 few years back, replaced 1 or 2 small parts. Neuchatel Time at Keck Seng.

i was quoted RM2565.20(plus parts) to service my Rolex Daydate from rolex Malaysia..............

There must have been an increase in servicing cost then. I did full servicing for my Datejust last year and it was RM1,950 at RSC.

Maybe because its got an extra complication (day) or they just assume because you have a solid gold watch that you are loaded? lol!!!

for Tag Heuer Calibre S full overhaul service, I was quoted RM1500

From lowest RM 50 to highest RM 4.3k with parts replacement.

Serviced 5035P at Patek Geneva, MYR 8,500.

Watches above 50k should have different cost range respectively.

Richard Mille, minimum MYR15k exc GST for a service + polish. Yikes.

Sent in for service an 8 year old Oris F1 Williams day date.
Official Oris service center in Wisma UOA 2 quoted rm800 + rm200 (for new rubber strap)
What I'm a little upset about is that they tell me that the hold down screws on case back has rusted and cannot be removed.
They will drill away the screws and install new ones (albeit it'll be a bigger diameter screw).
Aren't the screws suppose to be stainless steel and won't rust?

Industrial grade Stainless steel
304L or 316L
It's rust proof to normal weather
But not really chemical resistant especially to acid
So they fault ur sweat bro!

Actually stainless steel can rust, but not as fast as normal steel. Depends on what type of stainless steel too

Sent my Seamaster 300 GMT for full service few weeks back @ Swatch SC. Was charged MYR 2.1K
-
Usually i stay away from servicing my piece until it's until its really not functioning anymore. But if so, usually i do it from a trusted watch service shop and costs ranging from 300 to 600 SGD for most brands like B&R and Pams. For APs, its around 800 to 1k SGD.

Serviced my vintage rolex 1024 at Asia Watch Centre in Kuching (the family members have certification from rolex for servicing) back in October 2015 for RM1,200. Not bad considering the prices mentioned here. Got the same watch serviced over and over again by the same watch dealer. No probs! Thank God

If Rolex do not sell parts, how do independent service centres service your Rolexes?

Serviced my omega SMP at wing wah watch before for RM 900. Omega quoted me RM 1,300.

Good question, but being in Malaysia is it plausible that:
1) staff in the service centers are 'selling' parts from their inventory
2) the independent shops are swapping out parts from other watches to use
There was one story I recall from years ago, and authorized Rolex dealer in Georgetown Penang, they had one staff who is the only one there that had the knowledge to service the watches, but every time a Rolex came in, he would take off a part and replace it with some clone, in the end he could build a complete Rolex and sell that off. Not sure how true that is.

Hur..... That's very disastrous to those Rolex owner who have been serviced the watch there :Startled:
-
I'm still new in the mechanical watches and never been sent any my watch to service. For me, better to spent a few hundred more at the authorized service centre. The risk is far more from the independent watchmaker just to save a few buck. Beside , the SC will give 2 years more warranty and will responsible for any damage during the servicing process.
-
I prefer going through official service centres even though the cost is slightly more.
It costed me RM2000 to fully service my Speedmaster Pro Moonwatch at Wisma Goldhill. And I receive two years warranty after the service.

Just got my Rolex 15505 (3035 movement) serviced just now.
1. Oiling, change gasket, adjust accuracy.
2. Polish second/minute/hour hands.
Costed me RM 230.

Not RSC but an senior watch technician that I knows since 18years ago.

I had my Submariner rolesor serviced and polished at Wing Wah Watch, Subang Jaya, back in January 2017.
I've bought a few pieces from them so I have a good relationship.
I believe I paid 1,250 or 1,350 for full service & polish and comes back with a 1-year warranty.
