Of late, I started having interests with getting NOS of various collectible watches. While watches that were automatic in version and utilising ETA/Selitta/Seiko/Miyota calibers were of not much concern to me as my regular watchsmiths could work on them if further work was required, I was just offered the opportunity to get a couple of Seiko Sportura Kinetic from a decade or more ago. While the NOS had warranty from Japan, it was going to be trying to claim for warranty and I have read of cases involving duds in the Seiko 9T82 movements. I was especially concerned as I would be getting watches that had been left in the stockroom for more than a decade.
Anyone with experience with Seiko Kinetic movements, especially so if involving the older 9T82 movements, would appreciate if you could share your tuppence here. Cheers.
