Rolex is making their product from assests to investments!
Dont get me wrong, i love watches and never treated them as investments but certain brands kinda want customers to think their watches as investments and i guess they succeed since most people think that way tho ;D
Just my 2 sen only

Is there any merchandise that won't increase in price?

Anyone has any connection (AD/Boutique) where i can get a submariner date before the price increase? Preferable location is somewhere in klang valley.
-
Info I've received is SS and SS/Gold up 7%, solid gold up 10%. Effective 16/1.
Most ADs have no more sports models, except Explorer I. Most likely they're keeping the stocks I think.
-
The price increase is due to weakening ringgit or Rolex annual increase?
-

it really doesn't matter....it just increased.

It matters..
If is weakening ringgit, there might have another increase by Rolex HQ...
If it Rolex HQ, nothing much can do but further increase subject to ringgit position.
-
True, ..... it matter from our weak MYR. Not really the right time to buy any mass produced time pieces like Lolex & Omega, or even the big 4. But, its a good time to source those hard-to-get pieces from PP.
Likeswise, its really a bargain in the properties market now, esp those new launch commercial & industrial lots, with so many fringes & benefit, reminiscence of 2006-08 period.
Like Chai Gao said in the HK drama, "how many 10 years do you have in your life time", make good use of these golden opportunity, rather than grabbing those easily available Lolex!

When was the last price adjustment?
Gold dropped to the recent lowest point, but they up 10%
Double profit

Its always there and in-stock, trust me. Its the matter of you willing to pay premium for it or are you a loyal customer ;D
they will definitely keep the stock for now since tmrw will be the first day of price increment. Extra 6% ;D

Has anyone been to any ADs today to verify the price increase? Saw from another site a happy chap whom sported the SD4K for RM38,000 nett yesterday at an AD, which they told him that the price today would include an additional 7% to increase to RM40,660. Another friend wanted to get the SubC but the AD wanted a premium already even as of yesterday, so no point in picking it up. Even grey resellers' ads on BLNR and Hulk seemed to have increased by some margin.
An AD told me that the increase this round was from the higher replenishment cost due to depreciating currency (so any extra earnings from current stock was just one-off), so the official Rolex annual increase should come further down the road.
-
So the preowned shop WxxxWxx has no sub / GMT listed for sale. Sold out or held up?

Any shop would do the same.Even the AD's are doing it.

Just goes to reinforce why Rolexes generally are good bets when buying watches.
-
Rolex still ugly yo! :D Well, most of em. The Daytona looks quite the beaut.
I guess, when it comes to engineering, Germans still are the best.
-
Hopefully only 1 round of price increase in this year

I understand that this recent increased is due to our ringgit depreciation.
Rolex's yearly increase not included yet.
So could be another round.

i heard the increase was 6%

What's with premium and without premium price?
Are the prices inclusive GST?
-
Prices should be inclusive of GST. Yes, our ADs mark up hot pieces and pocket the extras. Up to a month ago, the LV was already asking RM39k at some places, which is frankly quite ridiculous. But you know how it goes; as long as folks are willing to pay, this practice will continue on. Perhaps there is more sense to pick up a 114060 now.

List price first, followed by out-the-door price with premium. All including GST.
Anyway these perpetually hot SS models will mostly never be sold without premium in ADs. I think it's been quite a long time since sports models is sold at list, excluding Sub ND, Explorer of course. I can only recall the Green Sapphire Milgauss (not exactly a sports model) being super hot at one point with super high premium but few years later it went back to list.
-
Daytona SS Ceramic at premium is more expensive than two-tone Daytona :o

The lately increase of Rolex official RRP has affected the preowned prices increase as well. :Blue:

That's a no brainer,right :Laughing_on_floor:

what will be the impact moving forward with this sky high Rolex price?
1. Pre-owned watches will be in hot demand? or demand towards new watches will be slow down?
2. i see those paying in foreign currency will have no impacts but not on ringgit.
3. demand towards other brand as alternative will be increased?
4. would there be a increase of supply on those high demand model with premium prices such as Daytona, submariner hulk and GMT Batman?
-
this price increased only for rolex watches or others swiss watches too ? coz if it's the currency issues.. then all imported watches should increase as well right

SubC Green - 35,xxx (no stock)
GMT Black - 33,xxx (after increase. It was 30,820)
