was surfing facebook to see if there's other risti groups around.
stumbled upon a group that buys and wears "grade A replicas" (not homage) but the ironic thing is the straps must be from Micah or Ted Su ...e.g "ori straps" according to them.
my question is what's the point? might as well save on the straps and get a real base Pam right? lordy..Ted and Micah's straps are not cheap. just a couple of the straps would set u close to 30-40% of a base Pam.
I limit myself to one purchase a year and pay off more important things first. of course i still have a lot of temptation to just buy buy buy but the reality keeps me grounded.
but isn't it more sensible to save and buy the real deal than splurge on expensive straps?

I have to agree on "save and buy the real deal" ;) and I do have the same thought, "I don't get it" :P
different people have different opinion and different thinking... personally, i don't encourage replica at all  I rather buy something i can afford then buying replica...and some replica not cheap le... some can cost up to 2K :HammerHead:
I think this topic has already been discuss (replica or not) somewhere ;)

it's not he replica thing that i do not understand but why would ppl wanna spend on straps that cost more than the watch "head" itself?! ???
-
I know what you mean..but it depends as in if all they have is one watch and one strap then it is much cheaper than PAM base model. however if they have more than 10 watches and each watch have more than one strap then it not a worthwhile collection.
the math is very simple...

This reminds me of those ah bengs who can't afford a real sport car. To satisfy their ego they modify their wira/satria to the best their money can buy. Those who have deeper pockets, they get a recon Japanese sport car and modify to their hearts desire.

these are fashion watch wearers, I myself can somehow relate to them (up to a tiny degree), maybe the type of straps can match the belt or shoes.... (metrosexual mah) ... hahahaa
they appreciate the type of leathers of the watch rather than the watch body / movement itself.

agreed with Sshark...just like those cant afford evolution so get their change their wira's heart (engine) make it wiralution...

i too stumbled onto few of these replica watch websites and most of them have quite pricey straps onto their pams..but the worst thing is they spend quite a sum of $$$ on purchasing fake watches..might as well save those pennies and buy a gen..my 2 cents :P
