Post by: meoramri on November 02, 2016, 05:56:16 AM
I am very interested in diver watches with display case-back. Would you guys like to share your collection with similar specification in this thread?

I'm not trying to stir the pot, but does adding a display back create another point for the case to become compromised underwater?

It seems as though most diving tool watches do not include this feature; however I am also very interested to see more examples that do.

I remember marveling at the mechanical movement that was visible through the back of my first Seiko, aged 13.

The technology keeping water from seeping through the dial window is the same used for the display case back. The overall manufacturing costs would be slightly higher compared to a solid case back.

From a manufacturers' point of view, having a display case back for their divers give that added coolness. Most professional dive watches are not into the 'cool' factor but more on the 'tool' factor.

Hence you see the display case back used by newer brands.

I'll upload more pics of my dive watches with this feature soon.
