Latest HOT chase the Daytona 11650LN.
The recommended retail price from Rolex is obviously not bothered by many AD.
They have jacked it up by 30-40%
Yet it is sought after with buyers willing to pay the premium. :HammerHead:
The days of "hey i know the manager of that watch shop....he will reserve for me" still is true but you will have to pay him the premium.
Is it worth the chase?
It s a beautiful watch.especially the white dial aka panda dial which is about 10-15% more than the black dial.
I am even told that when the heat dies down it should settle back at just about RM 50000. :Dancing_banana:
Hmmmm.....wait,maybe ....hmmmmm three years

Yup, just like the GV milgauss - a few years back.
Now, this model sits like a stale cake on the shelves.

Just wait. The premium isn't worth it. Especially with a brand like Rolex where people mostly purchase because it 'retains value' rather well.
Rolex wants to make lots of money on this too. They will eventually release more in the future. What they've done is to create a demand and build the brand hype. Once the hype subsides they'll release a lot of 116500LN.
For a company that makes 800k watches a year... there will be supply. Don't worry.

Agree. In this case, the waiting allows the price to settle down. I waited for the milgauss and I got a good price from the AD eventually

I thought Rolex made a million watches a year?!?
By the way?I really hat off to Rolex on its continuously effort in in improving on its products range .
I realized it late when I opened up its 40 yrs old Cellini movement.

Well said all bro and it is not worth to pay the premium. Just be patient and wait until its price become stable. The boutique manager who offered RM7xxxx for the watch was rejected by me without second thought but he subsequently informed me that the watch was eventually sold...haha...wiling buyer wiling seller..
-
Like I said in another thread earlier, no doubt the Daytona 4130 movement is one of the best
that has a vertical coupling, column wheel and 72 hrs. Pr
But I won't be paying nearly 20 k Rm premium for a watch that has 2 lugs thinner on the crown and pusher side than
the other 2 .
They should have make a similar everrose gold ceramic bezel Daytona type of casing for the SS Daytona as well.
I will only put my $ down when they do..
Anyway it's only my opinion , buy it if u like it.
Regards.

I was at the klia2 last 3 weeks..saw they have the black and white Daytona in stock, but eventually my interest of the watch been cut off when the shop manager informed me the so called retail premium..i walk away without hesitation

Go Japan, Dubai or HK. the local ADs can premium all they want..

No way you can get anything right now without premium or a PWP with another gold watch. Been to Vegas, Dubai, Doha, HK, Japan, etc etc, you named it. Lol. My name are just all over the waiting list across the world. None call so far.

:Startled: wow...bro, you went to so many places just to get this?
-
Ofcourse not, i travel alot, so whenever i see a Rolex AD i will just walk in a ask.
-
Try India then. look at where those grey retailers are getting theirs from
-
the place where I got my DaytonaC from my friend ordered it the same date as me. I received mine, he still waiting for his.
It looks like it may be next year till he receives his. I think the premiums probably going to stay for maybe another year.
-
I don't know about you guys, but everytime I buy a watch I would always compare to what I could get with the same amount. Now if you could get the DaytonaC for retail, then by all means go for it because I believe it's worth it at that price point. But if you're willing to pay around 19k USD, I would argue that you could get an AP 15202ST which, to me, is leaps and bounds over the DaytonaC. At that price point you could also get a perpetual JLC, a vintage Single Red Submariner 1680, a great white Sea Dweller and so much more.
But hey, your money is your money and as long as you enjoy your pieces that's what really matters. ;D
