There are watch brands out there struggling to stay afloat ensuring their watch consumers don't get bored with their designs.
But there are also few "Super" watch brands never change their watch designs for decades.
What would you think about this brand fatigue problem in watch industry? Does it really matter to watch branding, watch makers and watch consumers?
Please feel free to share your thoughts.
Thanks.

The Rolex submariner, daytona designs survive for many decades. These watches seem to be immuned from brand fatigue.

Most of the watch makers have different types/styles of watches to suit their customers different lifestyle. It is one of their effective tool to overcome Brand Fatigue problem.
Certainly, for small scale watch makers, the funding commitment is too much to handle if they wanted to have many different watch ranges.

I sometimes have automatic movement fatigue.
Sometimes design fatigue happens to certain iconic watch designs.
I think that somehow my different watches in boxes help a lot in easing my watch "fatigues".

Quite a few Seiko 5 with very classic looking dials at 38mm around. Cheap cheap dressy watch.

Some designs are evergreen while some are fashion statement - generally the latter will face brand fatigue if no new models are forthcoming .
So what are 'evergreen' designs? To me, these are designs that are practical.

to be frankly, there is some brand who dont "update" their design that frequent, just like rolex
but there is also other, say, IWC, who keep changing their aquatimer most of the time, was they still looking for the best design that suit them ?

Rolex Subs, Daytonas, GMTs
AP Royal Oak
Patek Nautilus
PAM Dunno what serial numbers (don't like this brand)
Seems like a successful sports watch is the way to fight brand fatigue

Hehehe I am biased. I like Rolex Explorer II more than Sub.

TLDR, only one sentence that matters.
“not as a timepiece, but as a piece of jewelry,”

But if you take watch as an art piece, then it is perfectly ok some people wear it as jewellery.
