I have 2 Steinhart watches: Ocean GMT , and Ocean 2.
Both of them were bought 4&5years ago. Now their hands and hour markers were having some oxidization stain and the perfect glossy silvery shining surface are long gone now....
Any shifu and bro here having the same problem?

Same issue with my Oris one year after I bought it. Thankfully it was fixed under warranty and the issue never occurred again.

Not so sure about that. But i do take hot shower with them or go for swimming with them.
I do the same to my tissot, citizen and seiko watches but so far no such problem.

Could be due water/condensation entering case maybe. Can't think of any other reason? Maybe some sifu can advise...

The disappointment on the Steinhart easily oxidized hands and markers have prompted me to expedite the process for getting my grail watches: Rolex and GS though. :Jumping:

Whatever watch from cheap ones to Rolex, never ever subject it to hot and cold at the same time.
It will cause water ingress.

I always bathing together with my watch.
Especially, those screw down crown and diver certified watch.
But i thought ISO diver certified watch should be air-tight enough!?! ???

Its certified to be waterproof to certain pressure.
However, if you subject it to hot and cold conditions simultaneously, the expansion of the watch case will cause water ingress.

Due to tight schedule everyday, every second count. I couldn't afford to spend too much time on shower.

In particular, the water resistance rating of a watch does not take in to account:
Sudden, rapid, and repeated water pressure changes experienced by the wrist of a surface swimmer. The force of plunging your arm into the water while swimming can for a fraction of a second greatly exceed the static pressures the watch was rated for.
High water temperatures experienced in a hot tub. Normal diving and water activities are done in temperate to very cold waters--not water exceeding body temperature. Such high temperatures can damage the water protection seals of a watch.
Sudden changes of temperature experienced going from a hot tub to a cold swimming pool. In diving and swimming, temperature changes are usually fairly gradual. A sudden transition from the 100º F of a hot tub to the 70º F of a cold pool causes a contraction of the rubber seals in a watch--which may allow water to leak in.
The ability of the watch to STAY water resistant as it ages. The seals that prevent water from entering the watch will weaken and fail with age. For use in water, water resistant watches should be pressure checked every year. The seals should be replaced at least every two or three years.

It's time for watch company to design a special watch that is hot tub or hot shower water resistant.
