Title: Would you pay a premium for a used/vintage watch but you can still get a brand new model at half the

the monacos u see are heuers, not tags.
all collector driven markets.

Most of the prices are derived from demand and supply. The lesser the supply, the more expensive it is. " Rare" , its a very sensitive term in watch industry ... lol.

Some collectors told me new rolexs has not much soul and anyone can buy it from the shop. Vintages are more rare and harder to find, so when coffee time with their friends , they can brag more and will be different from the rest of the pack.

Post by: adamjohari on July 04, 2016, 01:02:17 PM: Not because of the Zenith movement. The older ones just look nicer. The super old Daytona uses the Valjoux 72 workhorse. Rolex is getting beefier by the minute. The new submariners looks like the old submariner on steroids. Less elegant for me.

SD116600 retails at RM38k, and the collector flipping the SD1665 was asking for RM38k non-negotiable. Apparently, his SD is in relatively good condition and he was willing to deal over at RSC. Would you flip a current SD to get a vintage SD?

A good and orignal condition 1665 is hard to come by, why not?

I will keep existing SD for sure if I were you.

Still debating if I should let go of my SD116600, as it literally has no dings/dents/scratches and is as-new. The 1665 should have some battle scars, but that was to be expected since it was 38 years old.

Post by: Spider boy on July 05, 2016, 07:49:01 PM: i own a sd4000 and to be honest , i will trade a good 1665 with no second thoughts at all . i think comparing a new sd4000 to the rare 1665 is slightly unfair, lol... cause its a different league. 1665 is rare... but anyone can buy a sd4000. Just like a new porsche carrera vs 993 or any older than that
