Title: Share your "watch rekindle" experience
Post by: asimo on June 23, 2016, 07:55:04 AM
Watch appreciation is a strange journey.

Sometimes we buy a watch that we really liked and after owned it , our love slowly fades .. and we trade it for another new love.

Then after sometimes, we kind of miss our old watch, regret selling it and find ways to rekindle and bought back the same brand or model.

Please share if you have gone thru this
Strange journey ...(maybe some even a few rounds of buying and selling the same models , losing lots of $$$ in between)

Myself, I used to own a pam000 4 years ago and sold after 1 year. And kind of miss it, so recently I bought back a pam005... Maybe slightly different than a 000.

Watch rekindling?
So far I have yet to experience any.
Coz most watches that I have sold most probably stayed in the box for a year until I feel that it's surplus...
So no such experiences for me.

Experienced that with the Pelagos v1- initially felt that it was on the dull side, flipped it and found myself wanting it again. Got another Pelagos v1 and was happy with it for a long while, then flipped it to go for the Pelagos Blue when it arrived. But with the cash in hand from the Pelagos v1 sale, I was back at the AD and can't quite get past the busy 5-liner dial. So no more Pelagos in my collection. May add back a v1 in my collection some day  ::)

Went through this thrice with the 116520 Stainless steel Daytona before deciding I should really get a Cerachrom RG one but sold that too and am looking to acquire it again.

Same thing happened with the GMTIIc BLNR. Then there is my Big Pilot as well. And my Breguet Type XXI Transatlantique.

The only watch I actually regret selling is a Montblanc quartz. It wasn't very important until I saw pictures of me wearing it.
