Hi all! Just wanted to share my new Japanese beauty. She hardly one week old. As can be observed from the original watch, only the date on the rt side of the watch had a cyclops (or magnifier crystal). What I did because of my vision problems was to order a Sapphire crystal bullet shaped magnifier and UV glue. Using a fine forceps, I coated the underside of the magnifier crystal and positioned it over the day window. It sets in 2-4 minutes so you've got plenty of time to get the alignment just right. Then, using a UV torchlight purchased from Mudah, I hardened the adhesive for 20 minutes. Voila! Next up is cleaning the periphery of the mag lens from the residue of excess UV adhesive.
Quite frankly, beauty is in the eye of the beholder so it pretty much a love it or hate it scenario but for me, form must follow function hence the decision. I'm pretty happy with her so that's what matters most I guess. Looking forward to many good years with her.
