Insanely Beautiful!

Omg it's out! It's really here!!
-
Green dial goes very well with the full gold.
Great stuff... I was expecting Root Beer to make a comeback, but it didn't.
-
I saw black and white Mickey Mouse waving to me ;D

Love the white!

An awesome and handsome new piece of Daytona. Compared to the black, I am more attracted to the white.
-
Ultimate piece. Daytona is the top in its range. Nothing can beat it.

Lucky you! Have fun at Baselworld! Wish that someday i could have spare time to join Baselworld in future ;)
-
white dial looks gorgeous imo
-
I simply can't get tired of Rolex watches.
Always got one more surprise coming up.
-
the white Daytona is the winner...
i just wish they would have make it 42mm instead of 40mm.....
-
Always leaned towards white  An elegant and cool winner indeed
As for the green, I still prefer the old green. This new green somehow reminds me of seiko green... with all due respect
-
Ordered the black dial, I found it to be more versatile for me.
A lot of people after the white dial. On the day I placed the order two people ordered before me and both opted the white dial. I was the first order for the black dial. At the moment the white dial is highly sought after. More like 7 to 1.
-
Black dial reminds me of Speedmaster
-
White dial with black ceramic is perfect combo
-
For those who can afford both, get all of them. Both are stunning.

Anyone else here ordered the new Daytona C?

I tried. My usual AD said no point putting names on the list. It's still first come first served basis, so she will call me when it arrives and hold a piece for me for 48 hrs

The last time I went to THG in SG they quoted stainless steel black dial Daytona 16,500 SGD.
I don't think they will sell at list price. Please enlighten me if you have purchased a SS Daytona from them before at list price.

White dial Daytona is the killer

To be honest, if I really like the piece, I have no qualms paying the premium over rrp for it.
-
Black and white looks fantastic, hope it will not sell at premium.
-
Gotta admit they are nice. Even though I don't like Rolex that much. White dial with black ceramic is the cream of the crop
-
Really need to look at the watches in real life then only can get the right feel...
As of now, I think the color contrasts of the black ceramic with the dials makes the watches very "Tag Heuer Formula 1" like.....
But that's just me, I still prefer the existing models.
-

110% it will be at premium for this yr

Totally agreed. For those who are no willing to pay a premium to buy at Malaysia AD, may consider to buy at oversea.

Am pretty sure they'll charge premium. Be prepared to pay
-
IMO just wait and don't pay above list for this, Daytona and all modern Rolex are mass produced it should not be charged at a premium.
Look what happened to milgauss when it was released, some dealers were selling it for 100% over the retail for the GV model. Compare to price now?

Does anyone have a sense of the price estimate? i heard somewhere between 58K - 60K..

If we talking list price:
Should be low 40k's ringgit IMO.
Mine cost 14,272 AUD after claim GST. At todays rate of 2.97 should be RM42,390. So list price can't be far off this amount.
-
Low 40s would seem like a fair price. Knowing the ADs in MY though... Don't think that this will be the case.
-
Yesterday went to an AD in KL. Although they don't have stock, but the AD guy said if they have stock, the current SS model Ref 116520 Black Dial they will sell for RM51k. So I don't think the Daytona Ceramic will be less than that!
-
Called up another AD in KL. They have white dial 116520 available for rm46k

The list price for current model is already RM43,900, the list price for the ceramic version should be closer to RM50,000.
Bro Siera, you sure your AD gave you the price list for the new model or current Daytona?
-
i can see why everyone is after the White dial. The black dial looks too understated.
i kinda agree with swleong
As of now, I think the color contrasts of the black ceramic with the dials makes the watches very "Tag Heuer Formula 1" like.....
-
To be honest, I was never a fan of Daytona - despite being an iconic watch that it is.
But this new Daytona 116500...man! Awe-inspiring look!
-
Me too totally hand down with the white dial...
AD in HK is selling at HKD 90,000 ...

Yes I confirm the price is AUD 14,272 after claim back GST. You can ring up authorised dealers in Australia, this is the list price for whole of Australia.
So in ringgit is around RM42,500 at todays rate. I think this already quite expensive.

Rolie price will only go up every year, so grab one if you can! ;D

HKD 90,000 looks like retail premium.
Here you go more info on Australia retail:
http://timeandtidewatches.com/gone-in-60-seconds-the-rolex-oyster-perpetual-cosmograph-daytona-ref-116500-ln-video-review/
RRP AUD 15,700 (including GST AUD 1,427)
After claim GST AUD 14,272 = Below RM43K
So who have ordered.
-
Wow that is cheap considering 2 weeks ago in KL, one AD said selling white dial 116520 for rm46k and another AD said selling black dial 116520 for rm51k

Super beautiful!!

Lovely Watch.
-
How much roughly the damage?
-
Absolutely stunning watch. Can't wait to see in person, but seems like due to the high demand might never see it for a few years...haha
-
Buy it at oversea boutiques if you are traveling. Believe the chances to get one is higher than the Malaysia boutiques. ;D
-
Have a feeling it'll be sold over rrp for early adopters. Would rather get a JLC perpetual calendar at that price.
-
Can't wait to get this beautiful watch.
Pre-order available at Rolex Authorized Dealer in KL ?
-
Super nice Daytona!! Especially the green one..
-

definitely there will be premium charged onto it & ppl are buying off the shelves like no ones business :o
-
Retail is 12,400 usd. Hopefully the price won't be too much above retail.
-
I heard you can get it for less than RM40k in Europe, if you get a tax refund. Can anyone confirm that?
-

Don't think you can buy at retail now.
Demand too strong. DavidSW just sold one above 20k USD. So that's over 80k ringgit and also it was a black dial. check out the pic to posted shortly. gone very fast the thing.

Enquired and placed name with AD. Will be priced around 46k.
However I'm at 15th or so on the list for the white dial and 10th for the black dial. :Laughing_on_floor: :Laughing_on_floor:
Virtually means next year can only get it and most probably the Retail price would have gone up a round by then :Blue:
-
Surprisingly to hear that the white has slightly more demand in terms of more names on it vs black
-
V interersting talk from two early owners:
https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/ben-clymer-and-john-mayer-talk-about-the-new-daytona
-
The white one has more history. As the Daytona Paul Newman has a white face. The contrast also, imho, looks much better with a white face. But shops in Malaysia tell me that they will price the black faced higher than the white face... which doesn't make much sense. Could be because they believe that the black face explorer 2 is in higher demand than the white polar explorer 2. I believe, rather, that these shops don't really know their craft well.... perhaps....
-
Also, let's be real, who's the shmuck who paid 21k usd for the Daytona? That's a 9k usd premium over the retail. With that amount you could get a Lange 1, JLC Duometre, FP Journe CB, Nautilus 5711.... the list goes on and on.
Unless you're a celebrity with cash to burn. Doesn't make financial sense. Of course, your money is your money....
-
these guys that pay way above retail cash is not the issue, for them it's the bragging rights...

I've been told by local boutique here that it'll definitely be over RM50K. Exact price will be determined when released. I've put myself on the list here and Australia. Will see who gets back to me first ;D

Why so surprise? Most people like the new white dial panda design which has really good contrast.

No surprise here.
White demand is insane. But I prefer the black and ordered the black.
-
Update:
black dial price on grey market is going down, dealers keep dropping price, lowest I have seen so far is $17,000 USD. Heavy premiums going to disappear soon.
-
The white dial has more history and looks better imho. But, if you like black then you should go with black. Shouldn't compromise your taste to fit in the crowd.

I was told that the new steel ceramic is going for FM73k
That is retail premium.
I paid 14,272 AUD for mine after GST claim. so should be approx. 44k-45k ringgit.
-
45k is good price
-
45k is good price
Almost sure this price is not available in Malaysia even adding 6% GST on top of it, as the boutiques will impose a premium on the RRP.
Anyone is able to share information from our local boutiques on estimated selling price?

Ok this is my third day wearing this piece.
So far so good. I can tell you guys that in real life this thing is so beautiful. in all lighting conditions and all angles it looks stunning. Rolex did a very good job. I am extremely happy.
Those minor changes made a huge difference.
I love what they have done to the subdials, it is not as shiny as the previous version. it appears more whitish and has that matt look.
So far I have nothing bad to say about this piece.
-
erm.... y is the plastic still on the watch? :P

Saw this at Rolex boutique at Wisma Atria@Singapore yesterday. Daytonas are definitely wallet killers. My guess for the right and left timepiece is the platinum model. Just can't make out the model in the middle. Prices are in Sing dollars which is already a killer. :o

Singaporeans could afford Rolex a lot better than Malaysians generally. Averagely, Singaporeans are 6-7 time richer than Malaysians. The current economy woe and a much much weaker RM make it a lot tougher for Malaysians to access to those luxury goods. The ex PM Musa Hitam predicts that Malaysia is going to be like the Philippine pretty soon :Blue:
