Title: Why it's important to Keep your Warranty Card/ Certificate/ Purchase Receipt
Post by: JeepWH on January 22, 2016, 07:45:37 AM
Recently reported in The Star where police broke a ring of break in robbers and recovered numerous luxury watches. However, the police is now faced with the headache of sorting out who owns which, with all sorts of people phoning in claiming their watches. The police has required claimants to produce the warranty card and the purchase receipt to prove ownership.

Therefore, it is of utmost importance to keep your watches warranty cards and purchase receipts in a safe place although the warranty period is out of warranty. Just in case..... ;)

Out of curiosity, Do You Keep Yours?  ;D

I keep everything. No excuses to not keep it. They don't take up much space and losing it would reduce the second hand value of your timepiece by a lot. If they had no value then maybe it would be different, but in a world with many counterfeits you have to be vigilant in maintaining documentation.

Warranty Card/ Certificate/ Purchase Receipt are like an identification to the owner. Certainly advisible to keep it for furture trade, lost case, service center justification etc.

Maybe they looking for the owner first so after the case is closed can directly contact them to come collect.

Furthermore, it helps project the image of efficiency relating to the police force.
