Have any of you heard anything about a price increase on watches due to MYR depreciation? I would think it is bound to happen soon. Does that mean it is a good time to buy watches again?
-
Yup! Is a good time to buy. A lot of overseas people came to buy taking the opportunities while our ringgit is depreciating.
-
Good investment at this point in time
-
Yeah good time to take advantage of the pre adjusted prices.
-
Great time to buy. Do check prices ADs and gray importers. I found very little difference between them now, as the AD's MSRP is regulated by the brand, which seem to be slow adjusting to the forex.

MYR staged a strong comeback to ard 4.21 against the USD today. Let's see whether the move can be sustained on fundamental basis. The price adjustment will put many people off for the time being - watch shops will be adversely affected by slowing local purchasers. :Blue:

I heard the watch boutiques are doing brisk business to Singaporeans and Mainland Chinese. I have a friend coming to Malaysia next week to buy up some Rolexes. He's from Shanghai..
The hardest hit would be us local buyers. Singaporeans come over for the weekend and get good deals plus additional 6% discount when they exit our airports..

This month Rolex price increase 8% in Malaysia, 3% in Singapore and also other Asian countries because of Asian currency depreciation. When asking about the price hike for Rolex AD in Europe like Netherlands, there is no increase in Europe.
