Title: Posting a watch to USA - advice needed

Which is the best secure company to ship with?

1/ Fedex Dhl or ups?
2/ How much will it cost me?

UPS there were some issues in the US about customs clearance and so on.

However, DHL has the best customer service hotline which teaches you how to declare your items and also pack it. Or you can head off to their service counters. The best thing is they provide next day delivery anywhere in the world with real time tracking. Fedex usually has some delays and tracking problems.

Price wise, both are very expensive, be prepared to pay RM 100+.

I went to Dhl and they quoted below

USA rm145+-
Switzerland rm195+-

* up to 500g inclusive of Dhl box

Post by: r3kahsttub on August 27, 2015, 12:33:51 PM: I have used GDEX to ship some items to US and UK before (<RM10k value) and have found them reliable thus far. Once it reaches the country of destination, local postal usually takes over; so in your case it would be a USPS tracking once it is checked in to the states. GDEX is marginally cheaper than both FedEx and DHL, but considering your shipping costs is under RM200, I think you should stick to a reputable parcel company (FedEx/DHL).

Another thing worth to note is the insured amount; I declared mine a lower value and said it was a sample. You may not be able to insure in full.

Just to update u guys I had the watch sent to USA via Dhl.
Takes about 5-6 days to arrive.
They may not accept Rolexes, so pls enquire first.

Cost incl Dhl box and gst
- rm111 for postage (<500g)
- rm100 for insurance (up to rm5k)

No idea about UK but I reckon it should cost about the same as Swiss (Europe)

Go to DHL website, there is a place where you can estimate your shipping costs
