Saw this ad in The Star Classifieds yesterday, was wondering if the Swatch Group is planning to set up movement parts manufacturing as well as maybe case and bracelet manufacturing facilities in Ipoh, Perak. As you can see, it states copper & stainless steel waste. This could mean watch parts (copper) and case parts (stainless steel). Furthermore, it requires ultra high purity deionized (distilled) water too, which is used to clean the watch parts after manufacturing process and ready for storage.
Plus, note the prefix to the email address.... @swatchgroup.com
Hmmm.....maybe in the near future some parts in the Omega is 'proudly' made in Malaysia?? ;D Or maybe, the case of the Omega is totally made in Malaysia.....
Any thoughts or 'insider info' ;D please do share
