Title: Cites Permit for Alligator strap
Post by: MDF on April 10, 2015, 07:39:50 AM
Bought an alligator strap from the US & had it sent via Fedex. Now Fedex tells me the merchant had made a declaration to on the need for the CITES permit. Something to do with dealing in endangered animals need a permit to import.

Looks like the strap is on the way back to the States as this permit needs a 90 day lead time to approve.

Any experience on this matter ?

Regards,
Joe Ling

Sorry to hear this

But lately custom officer is very very straight for all leather stuff

Even strap on a watch been query and asking for its origin

More so with gst import implemented

I don't feel like buying from oversea now
