Hi all,
I have recently grown fond of Panerai watches and plan to get one in the future. Unfortunately, I don't really know much about the different models. Can some panerai fans please share some advice?
Thank you!

Here you go a crash course with pictures just to give you an idea on the watch differences.

For me, they got too many models with aesthetics differences mainly on seconds, dial colour, luminor/ radiomir, no of hours of power reserve, size of watch 42,44,45,47, type of material for case . Its a big mindfield and worse you will realise at some point a lot of them "may" actually look very similar so why pay more !
Best you fix your budget then you compare the models around that price range will be a lot far easier to choose but this is for me. Thanks.

I'm not a panerity but not a hater too. Understood the history and legendary details behind a Pam. Just that I don't yet understand the logic that makes the baffling pricing.
Well, what a man's like is what a man like. Good luck in ur hunting.

Thanks for your replies.
The reason why I've mentioned Panerai is because I heard the resale value is not bad. I'm familiar with the Rolex collection already, so I just thought of expanding my horizon. Very true that it's hard to fully understand the Panerai collection though.
Are there any specific brands you guys chase?

Am not an expert or collector, so take my comments cautiously.... ;D
Best is to have a budget- tell us the range of $$ you willing to pay
There are models between 10-20k, right up to 50k and above...
Then, which case style sings to you? Luminor? Radiomir? Sub case? etc?
Once you have the above resolved, you can then short list to several models. Plenty of old threads here in MWF that you can search.
Many like to start off with base models. 000, 112, 210, 183...Relatively cheaper but very much respected.....
Do bear in mind that Panerai been releasing a `newer version' of these base models... equipped with 8 day movement...pricier of course..
As long as you're not hooked with vintage Pams and have a realistic budget and don't buy blindly, you should be alright.... ;D

First and foremost, filter it from hand-wound or automatic. Same goes to date or w/o date as well as sub-second or w/o sub-second. Wish it help
