hi fellow watch lovers..
how to ship expensive watch oversea safely? my understanding that few service provider such as Fedex limits their liability to RM1,000 only. mind share any other courier provider or insurance that we can purchase. my concern is if we declare the exact value, worried before leave the country, courier company, immigration already sapu the item...tq

You are right. AFAIK there is no courier willing to take up watch insurance. At most a few hundreds USD. So, if you really want to insure your watch, you may ask those general (not life) insurance companies.

got few questions:
1) do you declare the exact value and list down watch as description? or you put some random figures and vague description?
2) does customs open the boxes for inspection?
thank you

I use DHL before, they can cover insurance up to USD4000, usually I will declare it as precision instruments .

Maybe you can try Parcel Pro.. They do insure until 100k usd if I'm not mistaken
