I like to keep some watches running and will do some winding daily. Watches with crown lock, will need to unlock to wind and lock back. Just worry lock/unlock the crown and manual winding will put extra stress and need to send for maintenance soon. So, just wondering is it good to invest in winder or manual wind auto watches?

If you dont plan on wearing it, then dont wind it. Wind it only when you want to wear.I do it this way and i only have 6 auto watches.
Of course constant winding and screwing/unscrewing will induce wear and tear.
A watch winder is also not advisable as your watch will be winding alot, increasing wear and tear too.
Just my two cents.

Not true, a watch winder is good in maintaining watches. Watches are like cars, you have to start the engines up once in awhile if you are not going to drive it. Not letting your watches run will cause the lubricants to oxidise and it wont be good to your watches.

hence there is a recommendation that u should wind the watches every couple weeks.
i too dont use a winder, and havent had any issues before.

I use a watch winder, but set the rotation to the minimum choice from 4 specs. No complaints so far.

put it on winder and run all the time, sure wear and tear...
best way is like ur car, ppl ask u to start ur engine every morning even u dont drive it right?
for watch, wind and let it run every mth once will do
