Besview, I think all of us here are guilty of the kind of behaviour that you described. As much as we hate to admit it, the wrist watch may just be an expensive piece of male jewellery, and we are all "vain pots" who enjoy adorning our wrists with these hunky chunks of precious metal. However being men, we have conveniently bestowed technical sounding terms like "horologists" to describe ourselves in an attempt to disguise our vain pursuit. Thank God our wives and girlfriends actually believe that we're all expert watch collectors who are capable of making astute, rational investment decisions when it comes to our watch purchases. I suspect that if they knew half the truth this forum wouldn't be in existence. ;D
