Title: Silicon Strap Cracked

My silicon straps and loops become crack after not in use for a long time...How to prevent them from crack...Is it put the silicon grease can solve this problem...thanks

sounds more like some low grade rubber instead of silicone.

Very true. Some vendor claimed its silicone but the contents could be 99% rubber and only 1% silicone.

If you ask me how to determine if its a good silicone I think from the feel and the elasticity you could gauge if its a good component of silicone. :Cheers:

Agree with both of you...I have Italian Rubber for my watch...thick and long lasting for more than 5 years...
Two of my straps those crack...one is standard strap for Suunto Core and the other one is strap for 2005 Luminox Navy Seal...both strap got crack after not in use after a year...

low grade silicon always get crack easily, suggest to apply some lotion in order to maintain the surface and prevent dry or rot..
