haha... really don't know le :P
but i just bought my Nex5 (mirror-less with APS-C 1.5x (or 1.6?)) and love the color its produces.. small camera with DSLR feature ;)

This may be true but remember that if I have all the Canon L lenses (for example), I would have less motivation to mount them on (still) tiny APS-C sensor camera? Moreover, I think the highend dSLR market will move towards the full frame or even medium format territory.

ya only high end dlsr will survive for sport shooting pro, imho.
for still subject, high end pns or micro 3/4 is suffice.

might be selling off my d40 + 35 + nissin + raynox for this ??? ???

I think LX5 should be good (LX3 is already very good) but regardless of all the fancy description in the link, it is still a tiny sensor with limited ISO performance. I am pretty sure your dSLR will still be better than LX5. Of course, unless you want compactness/portability.

No doubt. Small sensor can't compare wth DSLR on ISO performance.

Not only ISO performance but also shutter lag, focusing speed, creative flexibility. However, this all depends on your needs and what you shoot. Compact is getting less attention so it is good for candid shots. Big dSLR attract attention and this is useful if you want to shoot the race queens in JP GT ;D
