Came across this Rodina automatic R005, which is Nomos Tangente homage. Google it and found there is a wide discussion in WUS. Surprisingly those comment and feedback are very positive in terms of movement accuracy and watch quality.

The watch is elegant and very dressy just as Nomos but with sea gull ST17 movement. price point also very affordable. About USD120. Anyone own this watch that can share some comments?? Let share your though.....

Another Bauhaus design watch! I wonder if the design is exclusive to Nomos, as suggested by the article. I presume not, as there are some ALS vintage has similar design in the 50s. Nonetheless, it’s a good option with a very attaactive price point. From the pictures it looks ‘chunkier’ than the Nomos or Stowa versions….

To be honest, I can't quite comprehend why would want buy homage based watches ? Flattery to the original watch perhaps but it is still a copy ...... :Startled: ???

if a watch jus a prototype and nvr available for sale, its an antique that only few exist and all in the hand of big time collector..... u admiring the design, you want it so badly..... YES

From the translation quoted in a different thread about Nomos vs. Stowa that the mentioned thread referred to:
"It's actually less important to find about which company has designed these dials, it is simply not the exclusive design of any company, but rather mirroring an epoch in the Pforzheimer dial and Swiss industry.
I'm going into the matter alittle deeper- I have been researching for months to identify the real creator or artist of this dial. Somewhere in Pforzheim, he must have lived and worked.
Moreover, the operation of many existing and former dial factories was mostly the same. They had a department with designers who just designed dials and tried to sell them to their customers. Dial collections have been submitted to the manufacturers of watches for several times a year. Producer of watches (including highly successful brands today) were picking up these drafts and ordered it with their branding."
This is the interesting part to me, as it seems like the Swiss watchmaking industry back then is not far off from the Chinese today. They were answering the demand, just churning out designs, mimicking whatever is selling, adding their own tweaks, as do today's ODM watch manufacturers in China, an integral part of mushroom watchmaking.

In fact watch industry is small...
Not many dial maker
Not many case maker
Not many hands maker
Last time in Swiss... Now mayb more in china...
So... Originality in design is most important!
But history told us... Ppl copy each other in this industry
