Most of the watches have their crown at 3... but nowadays you can see watch crown at different position and with all kind of deisgn, will you buy a watch because of the watch crown?

Canteen crown?
or u buy watch due to crown guard? like luminor?
-
Of course not la .... buy watch for the design, perceived brand prestige, resale value :Laughing_on_floor:
-
Yes!
Those special/big crowns like Panerai Luminor crown c/w crown guard and Graham 'grenade' crown, for me is the DNA and heart of that particular watch design.
-
And the vintage Voumard 2000 has the winding crown on its caseback..

Wow... Can't imagine!
Forgot... Got key wind and bezel wind now
-
Answer is yes for me. The large crown of a big pilot is a distinctive signature feature of the watch and it(the crown) itself is good enough a reason to get it!

some of the fish-crown of the older 5002 is even more sort-after, besides the different dial.

It's the overall design that matters to me. Probably an odd opinion here! ;D

(steel) bracelet design affects me more

(steel) bracelet design affects me more
U mean u only buy bracelet watches
-
Same watch different crown position, as a righty I would pick the one with crown located at 3'o clock... (don't take consideration of the prices, value, rarity)
classic example

for now, yes.
-
Yes for PAM crown guard and RAD / IWC fish crowns
-
for me it is more about practicality of the crown especially when it comes to manual winding watches. if the crown sits too low you have to wear the watch loosely thus it wobbles.
-
Would a watch crown totally affect my watch buying decision? I would have to say no. I look at the watch in an overall manner. I do however think that it is a bonus if the watch could be screwed down easily though i.e the crown catches the threading easily. The VC Overseas Chronograph I currently own is a pain when it comes to screwing down the crown.

my personal favorite is at 12 o'clock
