Good evening everyone.
Im currently in dilemma and The list below is my current thoughts of my next purchase

2) Tissot Couturier T035.627 (C01.211) 2.3k
3) Tissot Couturier T035.614 (Valjoux 7750) 3.9k
4) Ball Firemen Victory (ETA) ???
5) Ball TrainMaster Legend (ETA) ???
Any thoughts and suggestions are welcome :)

With a budget from 4-5k, there are a lot more choices for you.
Luminox and Tissot will be a no-no for me if I have a budget like this. For ball, you can have a look at Train master Eternity too. The ETA used by the Eternity is higher end than the Legend and Victory.
Anyway, I'd suggest that if you have a budget like this, consider a Longines.

Thank you for your response :D
Do you happen to know what's the pricing and which dealer distributing longines?
Currently the pricing I researched are all from online stores, I have no idea about the authenticity of the pricing

dear Jacques,
ball watch is quite worth to buy for the specs which other brand does not have and especially the lump, u will love it.
-
I think Tissot is a good choice for entry level automatic watches along with Mido and Certina. But with your budget, I'd be looking at Longines (Conquest collection), Ball, Oris and probably Maurice Lacroix. Anyways, what type of watch are you looking for? Sports & everyday watch, dress, divers' ?
-
Maurice Lacroix
-
mido not bad for the budget you have..
-
Longines would be better choice in the price range
-
I would buy a Longines Legend Diver at that budget...but if I were you, I would top up a thousand or two to buy a preloved Omega Moonwatch.
-
Longines got 1 diver series around your budget..
-
with ur kind of budget i would just bump in to any reputable watch shop in KLCC, Mid Valley, Sunway Pyramid, Bangsar, 1U, Starhill, Pertama complex & etc to look for Closer, Feel & Explore those brands like Ball, Oris, Longines, Maurice Lacroix, may be Mido & etc. Remember that u must Feel the Real Watch before buying. Real watch feel better on wrist rather just catalog/online. Most AD will give xx - xx% discount.... just negotiate.
(Mods- no discussion of discount allowed)
-
thumbs up for Ball. quality is pretty good for the price.
-
TAG Heuer also can get
-
I'll go with TAG or Oris
-
I think oris, ball and longines are all good options.
The recent Celcom 100 Tag Heuer campaign has somewhat further lower my desire to own any tag heuer :-\

Seiko Marine Master
-
Seiko Marine Master
An used one perhaps.
-
Sinn 104 or a used Sinn U1
-
Like above members mentioned, go and try the watch first and see which one sign to u most thn only short listed few pcs and bring to here for discussion. Maybe all the model u mentioned doesn't suit u after you strap it?

Seiko Marine Master
An used one perhaps.
I totally agree with getting a marine master. If you don't mind quartz. An automatic MM will set you back a few thousand more. I keep reading all these, "what is best" threads and most will recommend "Swiss" watches. why not Seiko? Most people perceive that this is a cheap Japanese watchmaker and the nicer ones does not warrant such a retail price.
In any event, if you do prefer a Swiss brand, I would be more than happy to recommend Ball. Even if they have ETA movements, Ball watches are built tough. And they will suit your budget. If you really can stretch your budget a little...why not give Seiko a try?
As for me...I play the patience game. Whenever I have an itch for a certain watch, I will wait for a month. I will go try them out at different shops, so that I don't annoy the salesperson :). Do research online to search for wrist shots, specs and price differences. If I still want that particular watch, budget permitting, then I will go buy it.
So good luck with your search...and do keep us posted on what your decision may be.
Cheers/Patrick

Oh noo.....! where is seiko !! they make some very good watches !
-
can consider EPOS, Hamilton, Maurice Lacroix.. Ball, Longines ...
-
or maybe a STOWA or LACO, SevenFriday if you like rugged style :)
-
for such budget, My vote goes to Maurice lacroix for design and Ball for the movement
-
You can get a Tag Heuer used for that price. Aquaracer? I've been using an Aquaracer for 8 years. A good watch.
-
To show how mesmerising Ball hands and hour markers are . here are the photos.

no vote for damasko??

Any pics to share ? Thanks.

I recommend Ball watch. The value of the watch shines in thr airplane when night time, your watch are thr only watch shines in dark, brighter than thr lum of the ailse walkway.
Air stwerdness will noticed you definately :)

I guess tag would fit within this budget, when they're having sales at their hq. Not sure if they still do that.
-
Pre owned watches would be great at this pricing. I saw you can even get a pre owned speedmaster reduced which has a solid movement and all round sizing. I once saw a speedmaster racing (with red checked around) for about rm5k or less! I've been wearing a speedmaster which is over 8 years old and I'm only beginning to appreciate what a solid watch it is from omega (it has the omega 1163 movement I think which is based on the famed valjoux 7750 which is solid).
-
how was it? I would prefer the longines diver series, that watch can purge like "pskkk...pskkk"
