just want to ask everyonr. do you prefer to own one rm100k watch or 10 rm10k watch or so on until value reaches 100k for eg 5 rm20k watch...i prefer to own more watches as opposed to one extraordinarily expensive watch
-
prefer own more watches as maintenance cost for the one RM 100k watch will make me :Startled:
-
Me too. The more you said "don't want to buy" a watch..... after getting expensive/dream/grail/or else..... the more you eager to get a new one... I had to blame myself for that. ;) Hahaha....
For me buying a watch is one of the satisfaction.... feel like a food to my soul.... hahaha.... :Laughing_on_floor: ... Cannot stop la buying watches (a least for me) even though I got a RM1mil watch on my hand.
-
it all depends how deep my pocket is, prefer quality than quantity

Agreed ;)
I once have more then 30 watches ... Vintage, modern and etc... Name it and I might have (except those pp, vc, iwc, etc la).., then I decided to sell all (most of it) and focus on certain complication I want ;)
In short, too many watches out there and we will not be able to "walap" all... Focus on the theme u set in your collection and quality ;)
Just my 2 cents...
Scott

4 me, just buy wateva i like n wateva that is affordable at that point in time...the point of collecting is to build up your treasure chest over time...then 15 yrs down the road, u sit down n admire all ur watches...u will think, ahh i got this from spore when i was working...this other pc was bought during xmas when i had a fat bonus...etc etc...so it's like a wlak down memory lane... ;D

 We're the same.... ;)

having a variety is more fun.....boring to only have one good watch....
-
I prefer a quality few rather than many mediocre ones.
At least when i put them on i dont think "what if i bought the other one"
-
Even though we have the same interest about watches... but our way of collecting it is different. I can see variety of interest & passion in watches. That makes our world interesting.
Nice knowing you all
-
I was also initially very interested in any nice looking watches.
Now, I prefer to concentrate on a 2 - 3 brands and mostly chronograph watches.
-
buy less but buy better...
to each their own ... just like clothes we have our own preferences and style

+1
That is precisely the reason for some of my watches. Had a good holiday in Penang - buy 1 for remembrance. Went to Philippines - buy 1, Went to HK, another 1, friend open shop, buy 1, etc, etc. :P

I had to make the same decision recently. Either spend 11K on a IWC PILOT Mark 16 or buy 3 watches for the same amount. I chose the latter so I now own a Ball Fireman Ohio and a Damasko DA36. For my third watch I am looking
at STOWA Marine.

interesting responses here...a friend as me this question not too long ago and i gave him my answer..got rapped for not choosing one super expensive watch...so i spent 15 minutes justifying my claim.. :Laughing_on_floor:..good to know about different peoples' opinion
-
To each of his / her own choice. Owning one super duper watch instead of three super watches on rotating basis, the choice is yours.
IMO, I would prefer to go for rotating watches for fresh look instead of only one watch all year round. After all, a watch is for telling time. Its your feeling and wants that’s count.
Over time, when your needs to just one super duper watch comes along, you will know it - as it’s just comes naturally, really.
Good luck.

me too, like various basic watches then one super expensive as I really enjoy deciding which watch to wear in the morning. Ha ha... kinda weird but it really satisfying.
