Title: Longines Master Collection Moonphase Chrono
Post by: spicediablo on April 20, 2014, 09:18:57 AM
Currently thinking to 'upgrade' my Orientstar retrograde to this sweet piece. It cost about 10k. Just like to ask fellow forummers here who have owned Longines watches before. What do you think? Is it worth the $$?
 The watch is here:

It looks good to me. If its in house movement I would say worth the value. Because if its ETA chrono other brand is selling cheaper.

That's my opinion only la

Unless you got a watch winder, otherwise plenty to be readjusted upon waking up the watch. Secondly, all the 4 hands of same colour is a bit difficult to read. " No thanks" for me... ;=)

Thanks all for the replies. I have a watch winder btw and don't mind the setting up upon waking. I am a complication lover

BTW, I found another 40mm beaute,Maurice Lacroix, but as I understand, they are quite new in watchmaking compared to Longines. What do you think?

There are several moonphase in the market you could look at...posted the picture which is closer to the actual watch rather than a 2d pic

1) FC slim line

hmm... too much happening on the watch for my liking... depends on what you really need as you'd have the moonphase, calendar and chronograph going in altogether...

believe bro TJWN already recommended 2 pieces of what I would consider, the FC Slim Line Moonphase and the Junghans Meister Kalender... both lovely looking pieces minus the chronograph functions... and also within the price range that you're looking at...

So many to choose from....but my wrist can only take 40mm maximum. I believe some of them are bigger than that.... :'(

Any reason Maurice Lacroix is not in your list?

Simply just because you already mentioned it.... ;D

**for the Junghans Kalender, they done something interesting, one of the star in the moonphase is actually their logo, the "eight pointed star with a J"

One of the affordable moonphase watches around. If you don't mind a busy dial, it's a really nice dress watch. In fact, I was struggling between this and another watch previously.

Love that Junghans.  Using the logo for one of the moonphase stars is just the sort of detail that makes me smile.

From those I quoted you above, is 42mm except for the Junghans is 40.4...
Classic watches at middle price point is going above 40mm nowadays, meanwhile the higher price range watches is keeping the classic watches below 40mm  ;D
