Title: Nicolas G Hayek watchmaking school in KL?
Post by: GTH on March 27, 2014, 02:26:34 PM
Hi guys, I know this topic has been brought up before, but I'm not sure where actually to post this topic, OT, watches, events or? you catch my drift la.

The website http://www.nghayekwatchmakingschool.org/The-Schools/Kuala-Lumpur/General-Information.aspx (http://www.nghayekwatchmakingschool.org/The-Schools/Kuala-Lumpur/General-Information.aspx)

So my questions are,
1. Has anyone gone to take a look at this school? Are public allowed to tour the school?
2. Do any of you know a student from the school? are they good watchmakers in your opinion?
3. Are they producing quality watchmakers or just train to repair watch?

Mods: if required to relocate thread please do so. Thousand apologies if any inconvenience caused.

from what i recall, they only accept 1 or 2 sponsored students per year, and vouched for / endorsed by a swatch employee...and then you will be bonded with swatch group for 2years...
the alternative is to pay something like rm200k for the course.

and no, i dont know anyone who came from that school.
and yes, from the course structure as listed on the website - it is pretty obvious they are being trained to be watch makers.

thanks for your reply. Sounds not bad to be bonded 2 years after 2 year study.
any members here tried to apply for the course? got age limit?
