After spending weeks reading this ADDICTIVE forum, finally decided to cre8 an account n post smth..
I owned a Tag carrera 1887 41mm and a Tag monaco calibre 12 both leather straps. Planning to get a third watch wif steel bracelet. Currently looking at:
1: Omega seamaster aqua terra 38.5mm steel bracelet
2: Rolex DateJust 2 41mm model 116334
Both caught my eye and can't stop looking at em recently. Any opinions from all the taikors here regarding both watches?

get the aqua terra and a vintage datejust...
-
the price should be below 15k for aqua terra and below 28k for brand new date just 2 rite? please correct me if I'm wrong many thanks
-
Get a picture of each watch on your wrist, post it - then we can help you decide (hopefully)

still wondering how to post pic in this forum using a hp...
will post it once i sort this issue out... ;D

Not a fan of both models. But if I must pick one no matter what I'd go with DJ2. Also ..... I'd get rid of the tags.
-
nah won't get rid of em...i love my babies..
-
Aqua Terra. But I'm biased - loving Omega right now.

ya, somewhere around there.
while a vintage datejust can be found around rm6k+.
best of both worlds for less than the price of a DJ2 :P

Use photobucket, easier to post images. Read this too, http://www.malaysiawatchforum.com/index.php/topic,1228.0.html.

I'd go for the aqua terra, looks better.
-
Rolex DJ2.

hey there sir tag fan
being a dj2 owner its inevitable for me to suggest it.. needing no further elaboration on y dj2 over aquaterra, i only c 2 reasons to swing over to aquat,
water resist greater than both ur tags n dj2
significant price value over dj2, at least initially..
regards..

Please post a pic of your monaco
-
The wider bezels on the 41mm DJ2 never looked quite right to me.
-
rolex 41mm.....

Aqua for sure

Nice watch, looks unique square chrono.

My most humble opinion is, try them both on...then make your decision based on how the watches feel like on your wrist. Although I don't have an AT, I do own a speedmaster pro with SS bracelet. My thoughts on the differences of that watch compared with my 40mm Milgauss is...they are both different watches. They look, feel and carry differently. I also own a Seiko GS SBGR083 and while it oozes quality and workmanship (I love the watch btw), putting the Rolex on feels like driving a Volvo. Pure solidness...you know you can knock the hell out of that watch and it will keep going. While I don't own a DJII, and I know that the Milgauss a little heavier, in some ways, they are very similar watches...so here is my take...DJII. Omega makes great watches...but Rolex is pure solid-ness and tough-ness...

Just went to try Aquaterra on my wrist…it looked smallish even its the 41.5mm model…perhaps im used to the size of monaco that's why i feel its kinda small on my wrist…anyways gonna go rolex and hopefully they let me try DJ2…neva went in a rolex store before, perhaps they will scan my entire outlook before they let me have a look tim…hahaha

Aquaterra Captain's watch ;D ;D
Congratulations! That is a stunner. Nicer than the Rollie IMO, better styling, better movement, and MUCH better value. In other words, you made the right choice. Enjoy your new watch!
